Hogwarts Legacy’s latest patch includes quest, audio and DLC fixes

The new patch, which largely targets bug fixes within missions, as well as some optimisation issues on PC, also fixes several issues wherein DLC costume pieces were not being given to players with the correct entitlements.

I wonder if they fixed the glitch where the Effects setting that controls everything from particle effects to SSR reflections was broken on Ultra. High had way better reflections while Ultra looked worse than Low and cost a big 30% performance hit over high. Crazy stuff. Just found out about this last night and was blown away by how good reflections look in hogwarts now even with RT off.

What pitch did you select when you made it? I went for the middle as everything else sounded immediately faked

No map fix, guess they don't consider that one very critical. Which it isn't, just a bit annoying. But they did fix other very minor things, so.

I think it was one notch deeper. It sounds fucking stupid and I’ll be honest, that as well as a couple other annoying issues have put me off booting it back up.

It was always playable at 4k dlss quality at ultra settings. Just turn off rt. Locked 60 fps.

Been playing like this all month. I did upgrade the ram to 32gb but it was fine at 16 gb in non rt modes.

Thats not a bug, you chose the voice pitch.

Just change it in the options.

I just bought xbox sx version today and there is so much framedrops in performance mode, i hope they fix that.

If you have a 120hz display, run the game on the 40FPS locked Balanced mode. It's the best way to play on console.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I was able to get a noticeable fps increase in this game when I turned off the Steam overlay. I'm guessing that since that was a bit of a known issue, and it's not fixed here, that something else fucky is going on with that.

Hmm, I did not know that this was an issue. I will turn mine off and see how it is, thanks for posting this.

Is it possible to turn off the display on a per game basis?

Yes. In steam, just right-click the game and select Properties. One of the options on the first panel there is a checkbox: "Use Steam overlay in game". Just uncheck that box.

Thread was going well. Why bring your junk into it?

Back on track - if you have done any .ini customizations, go to appdata/local/Hogwarts Legacy/Saved/ and delete or move out everything except the SavedGames folder and let the game recreate those files for you. Seems to run much better after their fixes. It appears RTX is still screwy though ... too bright now.

One thing I was happy about is it appears they fixed faces not looking like what you select in the character creator, think this was only an issue with female faces.

Now its crashing on pc for me

Edit; only one so far. Seems to be stable now, performance is much better at hogwarts, im am maintaining a stable 120 fps with all rtx features active and dlss set to quality

Still same fps drops even with the new patch on xbox in performance mode. I might connect it to my monitor so i can play in balanced mode with vrr.

The fact that optimization efforts are coming for XSX more than a month after game launch reveals how late they are scheduled in the development life cycle. It confirms that marketshare is having a big impact on launch day title quality, since market leader is being optimized first. If this is a trend, it's going to be a rough ride for third party tiles for XSS/XSX.
