Track by track rundown:
1. Avril Lavigne - Theme
-Hahahahaha...somehow, it just barely works. Runs straight down that thin line between cool and suck.
2. The Flaming Lips - Psychic Wall of Energy
-Alright track, not one of my favorites...I've heard the organ line before somewhere.
3. Willco - Just a Kid
-Damn good. Could probably work really well on top 40 radio, so some people may take offense to that. Don't be surprised if it turns out to be a single.
5. Prince Paul, Wordsworth, Wakikis - Prince Paul's Bubble Party
*Also includes any song that's based around character vocals
-Meh.
6. Electrocute - Bikini Bottom
-Kinda kooky, palatable...but then again, I've always been a sucker for surfer rock.
8. Shins - They'll Soon Discover
-THE reason to buy the soundtrack. If you like the Shins, if you don't like the Shins, if you just walked in from the street, this song will make you love it.
9. Ween - Ocean Man
-It's already out on album form, but doesn't prevent it from being cool. If you don't own "The Mollusk," or have never heard Ween, it'll be a good intro for you.
12. Tom Rothrock with Jim Wise - Goofy Goober Rock
-A rip of a hair metal song for the most part, but it's still alright.
13. Motorhead - You Better Swim
-MOTORHEAD FUCKING ROCK YEAH BITCHES YEAH
14. Plus-Tech Squeezebox with Spongebob - Jellyfish Band Song
-Okay, I admit. It's a character-vocal-based song, and I gave the collective meh earlier, but this one is actually good. I swear.
15. The Pirates - Spongebob Squarepants Theme
-The Hollywood-ized theme song! Not much else I can say about it, you'll either love it or hate it.
Overall: B+
