Holy sh*t, did anyone else know about this? (guitarists)

Guitar Center apparently officially bought Gibson Guitars. I assume naturally that includes Baldwin Pianos and Epiphone guitars also.

That fucking sucks, and I hope it doesn't mark the end of quality Gibson guitars. Apparently Gibson has had money troubles before and Guitar Center bailed them out once before. I guess Gibson can't recover and now Guitar Center is consuming them.

This sucks because Guitar Center fucking SUCKS. The employees are rude piece of shit, and they don't carry pretty much anything other than Gibson/Epiphone guitars already.

Does anyone know if this will mean a decline in quality or price? I'll never be able afford a J200 before the takeover. : (
 
Maybe your GC sucks, but mine is great. The Forest Hills Sam Ash can suck my dick. Not like it matters, since I doubt I'll be buying a new guitar; I absolutely love my Schecter C1 Classic to death. I'll most likely purchase a new Marshall amp, something with a few extra goodies and maybe another pedal or two.

I don't know how to feel about it. There isn't a Guitar Center within 50 miles of me.

I guess it kind of sucks. Another instance of the major conglomerate overtaking the little guy. What else is new?
 
Guitar Centers are full of Yngwie wannabes cranking marshall stacks they won't buy and playing bad renditions of bad 80s rock shredfests. However, this doesn't really mean much. I really, really doubt Guitar Center's going to force Gibson Guitars GC exclusive.

the drummers at guitarcenter have always been pretty nice to me. i sometimes get parts from there cause the guys give me huge discounts.. and they barely know me..
 
we must FEED the ego. feed it and we'll get more askewed photos to hide some horrible physical defect!

and i'm with Alpha - the FH Sam Ash does indeed suck monkey balls.
