Jesus people >_>

She is way more interesting, there are more aspects in her character that clearly add to the drama. She is determined to achieve her ambition, she is as machiavellian as her husband, but she is weak at some point with her unhappiness and her envy of baby. Skyler is the umpteenth wife-mother stereotype we are continually served on TV shows and movies

I can't wait to see what awkward product placement they'll do this season. Maybe Frank will stream his PS4 play sessions via twitch?

I'm generally not bothered by responsible use of product placement (I'd rather see Kellogg's Frosted Flakes than Cereal Brand Cereal, for instance), and I think Frank's love of violent video games is a fun little character detail, but that Playstation Vita bit was just too much.

I wonder if it will get a third season.

I like the idea of not knowing a series is ending until you get to the end, which seems like something Netflix could do unlike television. How cool would it be to just get to the end of a season and realize you had actually just finished the show, instead of having an entire year of commercials hyping up the disappointing lumber jack ending.

Supposedly House of Cards is one of President Obama's favorite TV shows, which I find kinda intriguing.

My grandfather was in the army during WWII and afterwards he never watched War movies e.g., Patton, The Longest Day, etc. According to my father he thought they were trash misrepresentations of war. I'm not sure of this but they might have even exacerbated a little PTSD. Anyways, when I was a tot I felt a similar feeling for my father, a doctor. Whenever he would come into the den and a medical drama (Scrubs, Grey's Anatomy, etc) was on he'd usually tell us to change it. I have a feeling it was for the very same reasons that my grandfather didn't like to watch War films. The only potential exception to this was Everwood, but that show focuses on the drama of a family that just so happens to have a doctor dad, so I'm not sure it qualifies as a medical drama.

Now I'm not implying that President Obama should have PTSD about politics, but I still think it's interesting that he watches a show based not only on his line of work but also in part on where he works.

Don't read too much into it. House of Cards is pure fantasy. We only wish our real government could be as effective and efficient as Congress in HoC.

Everyone I know in Washington says Veep is a far more realistic portrayal of Washington than House of Cards.

Omfg, all over my face.

Best show on TV. Spacey is a baus as Frank Underwood.

Edit: Also probably the best opening credits to a TV show. I might be biased because I'm from DC doe.

How would he know if he never even watched them?

I hope Frank's plan succeeds and he becomes president. Zoe gradually started losing me over the course of last season and completely lost me when she threatened to blackmail Rachel for not giving her info on Russo.

I don't like watching trailers because they always give away too much but the positive reaction in this thread has gotten me excited for the new season

oh man! i love this show so much.

i'd love to see the ascension of an "evil" president, that'd be so fun to watch.

Obama also loves Homeland, The Wire, and Modern Family, people like good television even if it is pure fantasy. Though the West Wing is obviously more respected and considered a more realistic portrayal in Washington circles, which I guess is why HoC is so refreshing as the complete anti-thesis of that show.

Hmm I've just always wondered how that is going to be accomplished especially with the conspiracy so quickly in the air after S1. At best he could manufacture a scandal that would force the President to step down, or resort to simple outright assassination (most unlikely). However, it would be hard to engineer a scandal that would only look bad on the President as opposed to his entire administration. Even if he succeeded in having the President step down he would have to be one hell of a good President to be re-elected, Gerald Ford faced that problem and lost but I guess he's no Frank Underwood.

I think he's just going to eliminate the threat like he did with Russo. S2 is supposed to be a butchery.
