How Capcom Did The IMPOSSIBLE

I feel like even during their 'worst' gen, which people will say is the PS360 gen, they still gave us quite a few gems:
  • Lost Planet 1
  • Lost Planet 2
  • Ultimate MvC 3
  • Asura's Wrath
  • Bionic Commando Rearmed 1
  • Bionic Commando Rearmed 2
  • Dead Rising 1
  • Dead Rising 2
  • D&D console edition
  • A bunch of Megaman games including MM 9 and 10
  • A bunch of Phoenix Wright games
  • Zack and Wiki
  • Monster Hunter Frontier
  • Monster Hunter Stories
  • RE: Revelations
  • RE 5
  • Street Fighter 4
  • Tatsunoko vs Capcom
They did a great job keeping up with tech too, especially since other Japanese companies were struggling badly with both Xbox 360's western market share and PS3's cell tech.
The entire industry in dept to Capcom, they handled dark periods singlehandedly.

asha sharma should buy capcom
I think you knew what type of responses you'd get.

Not sure if the video brings this up, but Street Fighter 6's single player story/expanded tutorial/RPG mode created a way to learn the mechanics of SF in a way that was engaging for me and pulled me into the series. I've always appreciated the music and characters of SF but have felt learning the game wasn't fun so I never tried getting into the series. I think this is just another example of Capcom operating on a really compelling level. I know multiplayer is the backbone of fighting games but I don't have siblings or friends I can play with with for multiplayer and I'm not good enough to engage in online SF multiplayer yet. I hope they continue to expand and develop SF in a way where it offers fun single player experiences.

If I was introduced to the series with Sleep Fighter VI and had to constantly read text message chains and grind trash mini games to buy junk for a crappy avatar and unlock the only visually appealing costumes for the uncanny valley roster I would probably toss it in the bin and think the franchise was whack.

100%. Also worth noting they were basically the only Japanese dev putting out technically impressive games for most of that generation.

I guess as long as it's single player and it has some production value people will not question the games beyond that point anymore.

Still props to them for releasing single player AAA every year because yes you can only admit that without them there's pretty much nothing except like the annual Sony AAA, not much else.

But in my opinion the games are just average (and that's almost being nice).

Along the Activision Blizzard exclusives!
Along with the rest of their inhouse studios exclusive.

but yeah id be a bit worried about them owning capcom. tango works was a great chance for them to truly understand and understand teh japanese games market from the perpective of a studio onwer and they shut them down. As much as id like them to own a few japanese studios im not that confident.....

what they do have is a lot of great western developers under their ladder that they need to support and the good willsurely be delivered to the xbox gamers and potential new xbox customers. they dont really need capcom to do it. but its a cool idea that maybshould just stay an idea. capcom are one of those companies I would like to see stay independant to be honest. but maybe money hat a capcom exclusive or two if they want to be aggressive.

overall I say they just double down with what they have. its already a lot. they just need to make most of it exclusive. COD, overwatch etc are fine as multiformat income generartors though. they can play both sides of the coin with what they have if they make smart choices
