How come The Wire gets no love here?

Overflowing with characters that are usually only realized within the pages of the finest novels, this tautly woven tapestry of crime and corruption stands as the best drama on television. With only two episodes left, I'm so eager to see just how the various subplots, all intricately wound together, are resolved. Idris Elba deserves an emmy for his performance this year.

$50/hour, but no kissing on the lips and colors must be pre-separated
Probably because it's not The Sorpranos, but I agree, it's a great show.

I fuckin' love the Wire, but I'm not going to stick around in this thread until I see tonite's episode

That's some avatar you got there.

I watched the Wire during some free HBO On Demand promotion and was intrigued, but I have a problem with keeping up with serial dramas in general. Not worth it to me if I can't watch it from the beginning. I'd rather just spend a couple hours with a good movie.

No longer boycotting the Wolfenstein franchise
I love The Wire. It's undoubtedly my favorite show on television. I missed tonights episode because I had a late flight, but I'll either download it or catch Tuesday's encore showing.

I'm really loving Cutty's character. I find his whole arc to be really interesting and thought-provoking; possibly the most powerful element of the season.

I thought the way they were handling Prez's unfortunate/accidental downfall was pretty great. The way major events can happen to big characters is one of the main draws for me. You can tell the guys writing this really care about the story and characters, but want to shake things up for everyone as well. Nothing gets a free pass.

Not sure what else to say at this point, I'm looking forward to seeing where this season ends up.

The first season of The Wire was AWESOME. I was addicted. I loved that show. Then the second season came out and I couldn't get into it after forcing myself to watch the first few episodes. After that, I let go of the series.

The Wire and The Corner (Filmed in Baltimore, Set before The Wire, was based on real events and was a set-up for The Wire) were awesome.

Pete Carroll Owns Me
The Wire gets no love at any forum I visit sadly. Hell even over at DVDtalks TV forum the Wire threads rarely ever make it past the first page. When alot of crap is on page 2 or 3 before the show even airs.

This season just doesnt seem like it should be ending so soon though. It just now seems like its starting to get some real direction and there are only 3 episodes left. Its either gonna be really rushed or leave us with alot to look forward too in season 4.

It's good? I see it listed but never bothered to watch it because I'd never heard of it before. I had the channel on it for 5 minutes once and nothing much seemed to happen (some guy pacing around an apartment looking worried/pissed) so I never looked into it more.

I wonder which season they're airing here in Canada. If it's early, I might try to catch the next eps. I desperately need at least one more decent weekly TV drama to pick up the slack after most of my favourite shows got FOXed.

My friends here and I agree that it's a horrible show. .... I say horrible because it just doesn't seem to be done well, and i don't like the subject matter = bias.

The times I watched the show it seemed to lack character development.

Finally bought a new PSP, but then pushed the demon onto someone else. Jesus.
Great show. I think Stringer will get shot up and have us wondering if he made it or not for season 4.

The Wire is easily the best drama on television and has been since it came out. I love the show and appreciate it's realistic take on the police and the criminals.
