I know ReplayTV allows you to transfer your recorded shows to your PC where you can then burn them to DVD. How do you guys do it with TiVo? I know I will have to mod it, but what program does this?

Finally bought a new PSP, but then pushed the demon onto someone else. Jesus.
I've been wondering the same thing... The answer I last got was 'you can't'.

For that reason alone I didn't get on the TiVo train.

That answer as far as I know is incorrect, you can mod the TV to among other things move content, let me check tivocommunity to see if I can give a better answer. It's pretty much frowned upon so.... check your PM in a bit. Interesting apparently the feature was hackable in Series 1 models, but from a quick google is not able to be done now with series 2 models...

Mod the TV or TiVo?

Fact of the matter is, I ain't moddin' sh!t. I'd much rather buy a 50 dollar TV card for my PC and get my 'TiVo-on' that way and not pay a bill...

You do have to pay a monthly sub fee for TiVo, right?

What a rip.

Maybe if this was the 80's and TV was worth watching... But not now.

I'm really not going to get in to a whether it's worth it or not. People who like Tivo enjoy what it provides and that's that. Do you have to pay? In certain situations yes. i.e. Straight Tivo's require a monthly fee... even DirecTivo's require a monthly unless you have Direct TV's premium package in which cause DirecTivo monthly subs are waived.

Thanks for the replies... I guess it isn't that big of deal. I heard they are rolling out a TiVO to Go service soon anyways. That is going to let you transfer shows to your PC. It says for viewing only, but I'm sure that once the media gets to the PC, it will be easy enough to convert the file (if necessary) and burn it.

I just thought it was a common thing. +1 for ReplayTV.
