How do I save these files? And get them onto my iPod?

I'm studying literature at the moment, and the course I'm taking has connections to a series of tv-programs and radio-programs. All of these programs can be seen on the net, but I want to download them on to my computer.

The programs are here (tv) and here (radio).

Now, the problem is of course that I can't find a way to save these files. Both the tv- and radio-programs are in the .asx-format. I want all of them on my harddrive in case they should be deleted from the site, and I also want to somehow get the radio-programs onto my iPod. Is this possible? If so, how? Please help, computer-gurus who are bound to be out there somewhere :)

There are two ways:

1) Do as Killthee suggests and Google for ASX Recorder. It and other similar software will let you record the stream to a Windows Media file on your hard drive, playable in Windows Media Player. You then would need to find another utility to convert the Windows Media file into MP3 for playback on your iPod.

OR

2) Google for "AllSoundRecorder" or some other similar software that can record (in real time) any sound produced by your sound card. Just set it to record and then listen to the show (and don't make any other sound on your computer). It will save the show to a WAV file on your hard drive. Then just convert the WAV file to MP3 for playback on your iPod.

Thanks! The first programs I downloaded wouldn't do a thing (the files are probably copy-protected somehow), but I found another called Net Transport which seems to work rather nicely.
