How do I select every single photo/video in Google Photos and just remove them forever?

Holy fucking shit.

Either I'm doing something wrong or Google Photos is the absolute worst. I just want to clean up my storage and basically have a 100% empty Google Photos for my new phone, but it's like weeds, they just keep coming back.

Is there any way at all to just select "select all" and remove everything at once in Google Photos? This is absurd because I'm not gonna go per photo, that would be insanity.

An empty Google photos for your new phone? I think you are maybe misunderstanding cloud storage.

I'm not really sure what you mean. If you're trying to remove the local files on the phone, you can access an option under your profile picture that will delete the local files that have been backed up to your cloud storage. If you are trying to delete the cloud storage backup, I'm not certain that there is a way to delete everything at once but you can click for example the most recent photo hold shift and scroll down quite some distance and select many photos at once to begin deletion process.
