I'm trying to help some teams at work that contribute to a global web site but our resources are disjointed and ... corporate. Our knowledge bases are outdated and new questions aren't being answered.

I volunteered to set up a web forum to get everyday questions answered and solutions recorded. Any suggestions of a type of forum to use and how to set it up? Does vBulletin have to be bought? I'm just trying to help some peers and have no budget for this project.

You can try an ezboard... but I would suggest against it, and if you have to use it, pay for it. :|
