I had a 94.5% average for my classes last symester. How do I convert that into GPA eg. 3.7 or 3.2. I could never figure that shit out.

You can't spell "semester," and don't know how to calculate your own GPA. I really doubt you had a 94.5% average, bud.

No no no, he's probably British or something, and that's the snobby, elitist european spelling of semes....I'm sorry, symesteur.

ha ha very funny you bastards. Now if some one has a serious answer...

Depends on your University. Don't you have some kind of a University handbook that states the grading method? My University does a GPA out of 9 no the usual 4.

Multiply the points you earn per grade (A = 4, B = 3, C = 2, D = 1) by the number of units per class, then divide by the total number of units.

So, if you're getting an A in a 3-unit class, a B in a 3-unit class, a B in a 4-unit class, and a D in a 1-unit class, your GPA would be [(4*3) + (3*3) + (3*4) + (1*1)]/4 = 3.1

Note that + or - grades usually correspond to decimal values. (A B+ might give you 3.3 points, for instance.)

You don't calculate a GPA from an overall average from what I understand. You calculate it using the mark from each class. You first need to find out what percent translates to which letter for the school system that you're currently in.

Most schools calculate it like this:

A - 4 points
B - 3 points
C - 2 points
D - 1 point
E/F - 0 points

Multiply the number of credit hours a class is worth by the grade you got in that class. (e.g. if you take a 4-credit hour class and got a B, 4 X 3 = 12) Figure this up for each class, add the totals, and divide by your total credit hours.

Unless you're in high school, then it doesn't matter.

Edit: or I could have payed attention to jinx's post

Exactly. A 94.5% is probably an A, which is probably 4 points for each hour/credit the class was worth

New York school system?

94.5% = 3.45 GPA doesn't it?

60%-69% = D = 1.0
70%-79% = C = 2.0
80%-89% = B = 3.0
90%-100% = A = 4.0

EVERYONE'S WRONG! Take a ruler and then measure your fully erect penis in inches, then multiply by the circumference of your girlfriend's left nipple in meters.

Divided by Pi.

Yes, not everyone will get to have GPAs.

7.507 x ~4 / 3.14 = 9.55 ??? is this even possible? I don't think this is right.
Your girlfriend's left nipple is FOUR METERS in circumference?

I sense a tag coming, my friend...

Every teacher/professor/school/district/university/class has different criteria for matching percentages to GPAs. If you can't figure yours out, you won't graduate.
