How good Mario Kart is selling?

I know we've sold over 15 since Tuesday. Better than Nintendogs by 2-3 times, I think.

Also, we sold 6 outta 6 copies of Magna Carta in 2 days

I wonder how it'll do compared to Double Dash. That one did like 530K in November 2003, although IIRC the GC had a much bigger userbase then as well.

I know around Western Australia its extremely hard to find but we insigificant in the Grand Scheme of things. :lol

Add a day for shipping to stores. Game arrived on 11/15. Four days.

Unless you use that new math. But that would be silly.
And you're both wrong since I bought it on Monday November 14th. :)

uh thats pretty insane? 90,000 .. 4 days the games been out.. then dont count the people who dont even play online..

Man.. MK DS sales are gonna be like 400,000 or some shit o_O??

No, it means only 17. You can pull the XML feed from Nintendo:

http://www.nintendowifi.com/gaminghub/gameAuthActivity.do?gameCode=AMC

The first number is the number of players online now, the second is highest number of players online in the past 24 hours. The number goes to 0 whenever the Wi-Fi servers are having problems.

if that were true id see my name on nintendowifi.com but no matter how much refreshing i do.. i never do =[

I wander if they will break the numbers down by region. It will be interesting to see how the japanese and us europeans take to the online service, especially since the japanese have tended to shy away from online games.

Everyone at work plays it during break time, and soon my friends and I will have at it during our xmas vacation in vegas. =) Practically the day it came out, I've seen my coworkers just pop out their DSs during lunch just to play.

Well it is getting recognitions across several big game/tech-related sites atleast. I haven't seen one DS (or PSP) game get that much attention as this has from sites like shacknews etc.

How great will it do? How excellent is it going to sell? Now those are the questions we need to know. :P

...

"How excellently will it sell?"

"How greatly will it do?"

Sticklers, unite!

(Eats, Shoots & Leaves - read it!)

This is insignificant, but I was at Wal-Mart for about 10 min. the other day. I bought it, and a dad bought it for his kids.

Man, I may just ask for a DS for Christmas. This game and the coming ACww really is tempting me to start playing video games again.

The EB where I got mine received 40 copies, sold them all on the first day, and had a waiting line... they said they couldn't remember the last game that generated a waiting line.

Seen plenty of copies everywhere around town. Not sure how well the game is selling though. Didn't ask. Then again, nothing besides the PS2 has ever been a complete sellout.

My local Gamestop only recieved 9 copies. 5 of them were pre-orders. When i went to buy my copy, I got the second to the last one.

So, they ran out of their shipment pretty quickly, I imagine that it was like that at all places.

Do you guys actually go up the Employees and ask how a game is selling, or count the number of copies you see kept in the locked glass cases...

Thats pretty sad...

No, actually the employees felt compelled to tell me without me even asking.

Maybe I'm reading that page wrong, but there's no way there were 120,000 people online at the same time. That's bigger than Halo 2 when it launched, and it sold millions of copies, and predominantly to people to whom online play is of huge importance.
