How hot is too hot for a 3.2 ghz cpu to run?

I've just got the stock fans and such and don't bother overclocking anything in my computer but the temps are as follows

Idle - 49/50 Celcius
Heavy use(gaming, hi res video playback) 54-56 Celcius

System zones are 36-38 with a high end of 44 during heavy use.

The default settings in Intels hardware monitor consider 69C the limit on the processor before the alarm will sound and 50 the system zone alarm.

Should I be concerned about this ? I do know that during farcry and doom 3 some sequences make the fan turn up from the normal 2000 ish RPM to 7 or 8000 RPM, it shakes the whole case at that speed.

Any help would be appreciated.

that sounds right if your running on stock. I would start to sweat if it was getting to 60-64 on stock.

I say if things get bad. Go get a 3 foot flexi tube and hook it up with your intake from your computer, put a little mesh over it and put it outside or near a AC vent.

I'd be more carefull about your ram timing and heat of the ram. That seems to go quicker nowadays. Its very touchy sometimes.

cool, thats about all I needed to know. I've never seen the system run hotter then 56, although I was using the slightly incompatible motherboard manager for a bit , I just checked the cpu temp after playing half life 2 for an hour and a half. I'd just done the water hazzard sequence as well, a level which pushed the system quite a bit.

Then your fan is doing its job. Good job my man.

Now just head what i said earlier about getting cold air in there. Even if you dont have enough money for "conventional cooling methods" they're are other ways to deal with it that are cheap. Its especially handy if you have a floor vent.

I live in a area where it'll be 100 degrees plus for the summer so i'm gearing up for the worst. Since we dont have AC. Only damn good thing about my pc is in the winter i can take off the steel sides and use it as a heater.

Hahhahaha. Yeah I'm pretty sure my old comp was never able to affect the ambient temperature of the room like this one does. My whole purpose for even asking this question was that I had a bizarre restarting issue a couple weeks back that I thought was a virus but Kakusha said it sounded like overheating, and sure enough my PSU fan vent was partially blocked thanks to my wonderful cheap computer desk, so I'm pretty sure it trapped alot of very warm air in there. Since then I've pulled the computer up a mere 2 inches and haven't had a repeat of the issue since then.

Get some copper ram heatsinks. I dont think its the processor, but rather the ram. Ram is very finiky like i said before. So get some Thermaltake copper heatsinks for the ram.
