The game mechanics are very solid and fun at times. I bought the Cube version and enjoyed it until I reached the game-killing glitch. Yes, I must warn you as many have found out on their own- the game includes a horrible glitch which will destroy all your progress (it occurs about 3/4 of the way in). A door you normally go through is sealed shut and it completely ends any promise at progressing. There is a way to avoid it but you have to take careful steps leading up to this area. It is bullshit.sonarrat said:Remember seeing this cheap at Gamecrazy, would probably be buying the GCN version. Reviews range from lukewarm to very positive, all of them lauding the graphics. A Zelda-style game with an actual jump button? I really think I could like this a lot. Any impressions?
Just make sure you play it ASAP. I purchased a copy from Fry's and when I got around to opening it three days later I found the disk wasn't loose in the case but it was scratched to hell. I had a tough time returning it too since it was the only copy they had.sonarrat said:Success! Got the last copies of both the game and guide at Fry's, $30 total. Good deal considering the guide alone would have cost me $33 online.

Yeah my copy had that problem with the case too. I didn't notice the scratches until I tried to boot the game up and couldn't get past the title screen but it sounds like you're safe so nevermind my warning!sonarrat said:I opened it already, the disc is fine but the back of the case had some weird perforations on it from the cellophane. I can always recase it though.

Too bad about thethough.TO BE CONTINUED ending,
It's really sad to watch the documentary extra and see how much time they put into the engine, only it never to be used again. Even if hopes for Sphinx 2 were squashed by bad sales, someone should have stepped up to use it.
