I'd like to think I could get away with only one next-gen console. Of course, if there is more than a 6 month wait between Xbox 2 and PS3 I'll pop for an Xbox 2, but its a nice thought.
But seriously, how much overlap do you see in the kinds of games on both platforms? Will they be more aligned than their predecessors are, or will both manufacturers pull out the stops on the exclusives to try and create clear differences between the two, and therefore a reason to purchase one over the other?
Usually I'd have thought that exclusives weren't really enough to sway a purchasing decision, but MS have done very well with their exclusives and its almost worth buying an xbox just to play MS published games. And Sony as a publisher has come on leaps and bounds over the last ten years.
So what do you say? Will you still need both Xbox2 and PS3? Lets leave out Nintendo for this discussion, as it is likely to be very different in appeal compared to the other two.
