How often do you replay games?

I love replaying games and do it pretty often , its one of the best parts about gaming in general. I expect most people will say "Too many games to try out to replay games I've already beaten" or "I don't have too much time to waste on replaying games" but replaying games you really enjoyed is awesome , especially if you find new stuff you weren't aware , games can surprise like that pretty often.

I enjoy a good replay, but I don't replay games as much as I used to.

Exceptions being something like Hitman, in which there are so many ways to play a mission that it's not your typical replay.

The Mirror's Edge titles are among my favorites for replays.

Almost every week. Modern gaming is in such a depressing state of creative bankrupcy that going back to relive the games that made me love gaming so much is what's keeping me still gaming.

Another thing that's always fun for me is replaying old games on new hardware. Like PS3 era games on PC now in 4k60 instead of 720p30. Or on emulation, stuff from PS2 era or Wii era with high resolutions and hd texture packs.

I don't replay many modern games. But Mass Effect Trilogy is one of those series I revisit every 2-3 years for a play through. it's just that good.

Shadows of the Empire on N64.

Super Castlevania 4, Castlevania Blood lines, Castlevania SOTN, Castlevania Rondo. You get the picture.

Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Junior ;)

Often.
I find it safer to replay one of my favs rather than dive into 80h of new ac open world bloat. That said I am playing shadows now and liking it.

But o never replay open world games. Unless you can linear path them and so on.

I love replaying uncharted 4, hl2, souls, metro exodus etc. But stellar blade might join the group even though it’s kinda open world. So yeh. Good games

It depends. I see myself returning to Baldurs Gate 3 at least once or twice a year

I often replay From Software games too

Oh and I've been playing Monster Hunter World again. Wilds was such a let down, I didn't even make it past the 10 hour mark.

Very rarely, with the exceptions of requiring it for unlocks or trophies. For example I recently beat RE4make like six times for unlocks and trophies.

Depends, i'll have to either really like its gameplay loop, or the game must have something really cool for a new playthrough.

For example, the game i'm replaying right now is a shooter that has a difficulty mode where you can only use melee weapons, the mode even added a whole bunch of new exclusive weapons for this mode alone

I'm addicted to RPCS3 right now. I finally upgraded my CPU from an i7 7700 to a Ryzen 7 9700x and it just absolutely smokes every PS3 game on that emulator. Currently playing Gran Turismo 5 at 4K/100+ FPS and it's fucking glorious. I honestly love the visuals of games from that generation when they are cleaned up at high resolution.

Exactly, they have this sharpness and cleanliness about them that makes them look so amazing to this day.

Only rarely I might replay something right before a sequel releases.

Also, if I stop playing one game part way through to start another, I never go back to it. I don't have multiple games on the go.

Never, so many games to play I just couldn't fit it in unless I need to do a quick speed run of something for a platinum but I try to avoid those at most costs.

this. it's not like i go out of my way to. it's just that the oldies look so much more appealing than anything currently available a lot of the time...

Fairly often. I like to get my monies worth. The ones that I replay the most are my comfort games, like Skyrim, Cyberpunk, The Witcher 3, Horizon, Spider-Man and GTA, amongst others.

I’m currently playing AC Shadows, and whilst I’m having a great time, I can’t imagine playing this one again, at least to completion - I’m 10 hours in and still in the first area! I’ll probably play it again only to ogle at the visuals, which are right up there with Horizon FW on console.

Does reinstalling something, only to give up after the first play session, usually within the first hour or so counts as replaying? If so quite a lot.

Too much. I should be playing something from my ever-growing backlog, but sometimes I can't help myself by reliving past adventures I've enjoyed.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Quite often. If the game is fun it doesn't really matter that much if I've already played it.

Depends on the type of game. If we are talking single player story-driven games? Occasionally and usually only the all time greats or games I consider a masterpiece.

But roguelikes? Hundreds of times, although I'm going to guess you probably weren't talking about these kind of games since that is the whole point to them.

What time is it?
More and more lately. I'd rather replay a great game than force myself through a new experience just because it is new.

I play 6-10 single player games a year to completion, I pretty much always finish what I start, and I think I replay one game every 2 years on average.
Recently had an itching to replay nier automata but kcd2 got in the way. Replayed the witcher 3 after the PS5 update. Replayed Bayonetta.

There are so many great games I don't have the time for that it's hard to justify going back to old ones.

I'll revisit some if i can't find anything new to play. My go to games are:
Metal Gear Solid series
Yakuza 0-6
GTA Vice City and San Andreas
SMB 3 and Mario n64
Rygar and Star Tropics on NES
True Crime Streets of LA
Final Fantasy Tactics
Red Dead Redemption
The Getaway

Fallout 4 broke me as a gamer in relation to getting brand new games. Rather try out older, proven bangers. Never listen to what the industry is trying to hype up anymore. And with how disingenuous many reviewers/outlets are, the truth about the quality of a game don't come to light until several months has past.

Fuck that noise, goodwill well and truly spent.

But apart from saving a metric ton of money, I've also had some of the best years of my gaming life both discovering amazing oldies, working on my backlog and messing around with emulation/retro handhelds.

The backlog and list of games I'm waiting to reach a comfortable price point are usually to damn big to replay many titles. But I do have Darkest Dungeon, The Binding of Isaac and Slay the Spire permanently installed for when I just want a quick and sweet session.

Nowadays, i can do 1 or 2 full runs depending of the lenght of the game and how much i enjoyed it. Im in my 5th run in Stellar Blade, but its very rare to replay a game as much. Stellar Blade had alot of colectibles + 3 different endings that contributed to the higher than normal runs i usually do.

But if we go back to my childhood when i owned a Master System II and oly had a few games for it, i dont even know how many times i beated Alex Kid that came with the console. I reached a point i could speed run the game without losing any lives. Recently, tryed to play the same game as was in Lost Judgment, and i could not even beat the 1st level. Guess all these years made me rusty.

All the time. It's taken me decades, but I've stopped chasing new releases. My gaming library is too big and too good to just sit there and gather dust.

A few years ago I forced a rule on myself. I don't get a new game without replaying an old one first. That ultimately changed how I viewed gaming all together. Now I get games when they're cheaper, and I get so much more mileage and have more fun from my older games.

Very little, how can I find new favorites if I only cling to what I know. I do however play to try and replay 40 of my favorites the year I turn 40 and 5 every year after that.

Not counting multiplayer/CO OP games.

I do repeat games a lot like I put around 200 hours into Resident Evil 2 OG on the N64 plus elmulators. And I usually replay each Resident Evil game a bunch of times.

I'll say Fallout and Elder Scroll games are the ones I replay the most as each one got me over 1,000 hours with some like Morrowind, Fallout 3, and Skyrim over 2,000 hours each even. And I can still go back to them and have lots of fun.

As much as I want to replay games I complete, there’s simply too many other games to play for me to replay games I finished unfortunately.

Just curious is all lol.

On topic, I replay games when I'm bored with "current releases"

Very rarely.

I play some mp games kind of often and sometimes I replay sp games. I can't think of the latest one I replayed, maybe Chrono trigger a couple of years ago.

Rarely, relative to the quantity of single player games I play.

-CyberPunk
-Witcher 2/3
-Bioshock series
-Bloodborne/Elden Ring/Souls
-Lies of P
-Atomic Heart
-StarCraft/WarCraft campaigns

I think in the last 10 years, I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but that about covers it.

Played through GTAV multiple times on PS3, PS4, and once on my Series X because of gamepass. I am tempted to buy the ps5 version since it’s on sale at the moment (I played gta online once or twice but lost interest). I’ve played through Read Dead Redemption 2 multiple times on PS4. I’d definitely would get a ps5 version. Played through Cyberpunk 2077 a few times now, tempted to do it again. Also Witcher 3, I have tried to finish it a few times but the game is so goddamn long that I often get sidetracked by new games. I haven’t even got to the DLC yet, shame I know. I think I played through Stellar Blade three times back to back. Plenty more that I’m not remembering. But yeah I definitely replay my favorite games. If I don’t want to replay it, then I don’t consider it good.
