How the hell can I make FedEx GIVE ME MY SHIT

I have a package coming from FedEx, but they insist on having me sign for it (I already missed the guy twice and the option to have him just leave the package is voided out on the door tag). The thing is, there is NO WAY that I'll be home when he tries to drop it off, and NO WAY I can pick up the package myself at the damn drop off station before it closes (it's over an hour away from my house). So: how can I make these people give me what I fucking ordered?

Their website and customer service line have both been tremendously unhelpful, so now I turn to you, GAF, in my hour of need.

The shipper can request that signature not be required which will relieve FedEx of their obligation and they'll toss it in the bushes as they drive by. You can ask them to leave it with a neighbor and they will sometimes do that, or you can have them relocate it at a FedEx shipping center closer to where you are during the day (I've had them do that once or twice).

In the future, you can have it on file that you waiver the signature. FedEx never needs me to sign for anything anymore.

one time when i knew i wasn't going to be available at home all week, i got Fedex to reroute my package to a Downtown Brooklyn shipping center for me to pick up from

Use UPS next time. Problem solved.

Issues like this often are on the driver, not any one corporate policy. It's simply the luck of the draw, and happens with all of the major carriers. The best he can do is have the local dispatch force the driver to either deliver it through pestering, or have the delivery address changed.

That is if picking it up from the local depot is really that much of an issue.

UPS rocks. You guys are jealous. I refuse to order from any online site that doesn't offer UPS.

:lol Jealous? Jealous of WHAT? My $40 in fucking brokerage fees??

UPS can suck it.

Thanks guys. I solved the problem by just having my landlord sign, which he'll be doing tomorrow (provided the driver doesn't care, which my landlord doubts, as he apparently signs for people's packages for them all the time). Upon thinking about it, I realize this is how I must've gotten my replacement PSTwo, which was mysteriously in front of my door one day. :D

For the UPS fans: I actually have had much better luck with them in the past, but this item was shipped to me as a replacement (it's a set of PS2 component cables) and so I was at the whim of Sony.
