Don't know what the deal is, my apartment is otherwise clean, yet damn flies keep going into my beer cups. Anything I can do??

Get a cat.

My cat hunts and eats every fly that enters out home.

Sometimes if it's a big fly she'll just chew it for a bit before spitting it out and leaving it's wet, mangled corpse on the floor, but it's better than the fly buzzing around the house.

My dog is good at that as well when ever we go for long walks and have a rest it caches them from mid-air, soon no more flies

My cats don't care for flies, spiders on the other hand they will mash them up.

Clean your place up, like literally everything, even the junk drawer. Mop the floors, take everything out of your cabinets and place them back neatly. Now at this point, you destroyed something that was drawing them over there. Even if that wasn't the case, it should now be easy to find out where they're coming from.

Minimize any standing water. Do your dishes, wipe down your shower, don’t leave the toilet bowl open, etc., etc.

Was at my friend‘s house last night and when he opened the door to pick up our food that was just delivered a fly flew in. His cat immediately started leaping at it like a mad lad, and got it in about 15 seconds. Like, holy shit.

Many “Whelps”! Handle It!
This worked for me when I moved into my first tiny apartment and had a fly problem (not the original source, but I was told to do the same):

Just need an empty two litre, some string, and a beer. I put a new one up every few days and within a week the flies were gone.

You can also see if anyone in your area is selling dragon flies. Let several of them loose in your apartment for a day and a night, then release them into the wild via an open window or door. Those things will rapidly consume every other flying insect in no time.

I mean......how bad we talking OP? I lived in an apartment where we literally had them crawling all over every surface - hundreds. We put these in every shower, 24 hours later they were all dead. Cleaning up the corpses was just a matter of turning on the shower.

My cat is the same, what a champ. Cats forever.

If you are a heartless bastard get one of these fly traps with sweet liquid, flies are attracted to it, then they cannot go out and drawn.

For buzzing house flies the bugasalt gun is a must, a cup of beer is good bait.

For those little fruit flies you need to get rid of any exposed source like potted plants or....fruit and then use the cups of apple cider.

I used to do this with Mt Dew to capture wasps. Works like a charm.
