How to properly switch from ATI to Nvidia.

Not sure which board this should go in, but I was in here at the time so this is where it's going.

I just got a Nvidia 6600gt a couple days ago. Currently I have an ati x300se (gag barf gag). I know how to install the hardware, but as far as wiping the ati clean out of the system, and installing the new card fresh, how do I go about that? Do I just use the uninstall hardware wazard and delete all the ati affiliated programs I can find?

When you install ATI drivers, it also installs a program specifically made to completely uninstall the drivers. Instead of just installing the driver and the control panel, just run that.

When it tells you to reboot, that's when you shut off the PC and install the Nvidia card.
