What the fuck is going on with second season of The O.C.? I mean litteraly? Do the scriptwriters snore coke before they write this shit up? All the new introduced and very important characters just vanish from one episode to another. The punching is just random now. Some strange dude walk in on the set and you know Ryan is going to punch him for old times sake. Everybody is going freakin' crazy and what is up with the brother rape? We all know sniffin' that shit don't make you horny, it freakin' shrink your balls. I bet they don't even have a hanger for the final episode. They will probably bring back that damn baby.

The first season was too good. Even the director knows that. He made a freakin' episode that claimed the old season was better! Way to give up!

Will we ever see a third season? Do we really want one?

Yep, first season was great. This one has been really lackluster.

Seth is still funny after every now and then...but it's overshadowed by the melodrama. The XTREME Melodrama.

I'd normally hold out hope, with two episodes remaining...but I also read what happens.

Melodrama's favourite son, Oliver, returns to the show.

The season started off with not enough Seth funny, but with a non-brooding and entertaining Ryan. Now, every single plot has fallen into complete melodrama, and the fun aspects of the show are lost to rape and DUIs.

The O.C. has never been any better than the past multitude of prime time soaps in these areas; what set it apart was the witty writing and entertaining characters, and they've forgotten this. They're trying to make it shocking and provocative, and losing sight of the fact that all of that is a cliched mess.

Disappointing season overall. A mess of a show, by this point.

as the only characters still worth a damn, sandy and ryan need their own spin-off. they can move down to san diego, where sandy can help people solve their problems, and ryan can beat up whomever needs beating up.

seriously, the show's gone from "stupid fun" to plain ol' "stupid."

Could The OC be the biggest fluke in TV history? Hell I bought the DVD set the day it came out and have been hanging in there this season just hoping it picks up. There have been small blips which give me hope, but I'm ready to shelve this along with Buffy Season 6 and SbtB: The College Years. HOPEFULLY, it's just a sophomore slump.

I dunno maybe they just got lucky with Season 1 and the whole Oliver arc was more indicative of their true talent. Oh and major negative points for writing off the three hottest girls in the show (Anna, Halie and Alex).
