I really want to drop my cable service, it's too expensive and I just DVR most shows anyway.

What's the best solution for someone like me that wants to watch new shows either the day of or the next day after airing?

A combination of hulu, cbs.com, buying some shows a la carte on amazon/itunes, and renting the seasons that fall through the cracks on dvd from netflix.

So even if I pay, I still can't see the free stuff on my consoles? I thought it might just be a beta thing, but if I still can't get both paid and the free stuff, then I could care less.

ad-support? full of content i don't give a shit about? i think i will stick with netflix and add blu-ray for an extra 2$

better deal.

That's what's so obnoxious. Hulu Plus is still considered a beta from what I understand :\

So you're a fan?

So with Hulu Plus you get everything that's available on Hulu.com right?
Of course you do
n't
, it would be stupid if you paid money for a service and didn't get the free content. Currently hulu plus does not include all of the hulu content, ridiculous as that is.

Yay a bunch of old shit.

The audio sync is TERRIBLE. Good thing they're giving me a lot of money back. Hopefully I can sucker a lot of folks to sign up via referrals and get more free time out of this.

Anyone else get lag skips? What I mean is that the video you are watching randomly skips 20 seconds ahead for no reason. It seems to happen a lot on my ps3.

Yes. It randomly happens and is extremely annoying.

I just tried this out, it has nice selection but it's a bit crazy that you don't get the content, and you still get ads AND some of the quality is ass. I got rid of my DirecTV, was hoping the netflix/hulu plus combo would do it for me.

I am trying Hulu Plus again since there's a free one-week trial. Cheaper price and lower expectations have improved my opinion of the service, but only slightly. It seems more polished overall, but it's completely ridiculous that a lot of Hulu Free content still isn't available on Plus (even newer shit like Mr. Sunshine). Will see how I feel before the week is up, but it blows my mind that Hulu even launched its Plus service without acquiring the rights to everything available for Free and it boggles my mind that that's still a fucking issue 6-7 months in.

I've been a member the whole time. It does what I need it to do, act as a cheap DVR for the network shows I like. The PS3 and iPad clients work great. I'd like to see more content, specifically AMC shows, but it's not bad for $7.99/mo. Comcast would charge me more than that for the DVR fee on top of the cable bill I'd have to pay.

I didn't like it at first, but it seems like they're making an honest effort to acquire the rights to more and more shows.

The deal they recently struck with Viacom is nice.

Plus, scoring 500 plus titles from the Criterion collection (they recently added 150 titles as a start) is a big deal.

That's the part that really blows the most is that their service is so splintered. One would think that Hulu Plus is everything on Hulu, plus more. It was super annoying while I was in NY and couldn't watch some current shows off my phone that I had missed just because it was Hulu only which of course doesn't work on iOS devices.

I'd like to know this as well. I haven't even looked at vanilla Hulu in months.

I'd have to double check but I remember Fringe, Harry's Law, Chuck, How I Met Your Mother, Community, Archer, and Human Target off the top of my head. It's a decent amount of content not available through Hulu Plus which leaves Hulu access only through your computer or XBMC.

Yep. Chuck and Fringe in particular affect me.

it's missing alot, it seems to be rights issues.

the ps3 app has some issues, random freezes or skips in the playback.

Yep. Basically you can watch Community on your computer, but Hulu does not have the rights to stream the show on on "TV or mobile devices," plus it doesn't have previous seasons, so its pointless to have Hulu+ for this show.

The Office, on the other hand, has the "full series run of all 6 seasons and new episodes from the current season in HD on TV, mobile and web."

It also seems like anything on CBS and CW links you to their respective sites, so all of that is out too. Not exactly the same issue, but still content that's cut off.

I wouldn't mind seeing Fringe, the rest are not shows I'd be interested in, luckily. Hopefully they'll continue working out the rights.

It's a pretty significant amount of stuff so if you're relying on a device hooked up to a TV that is not XBMC or a computer, but devices like Roku, PS3, and iOS based, then it will be pretty limited in many cases. Hulu Plus only gives you 38% of primetime TV. Choose wisely.

So I was able to use the 360 client over the weekend due to the free Gold trial, much, much better then than the PS3 client. No stuttering and better quality for example.

Have any multiplatform owners noticed the same thing? Shame about it as I'm kinda done with XBL Gold right now.

I have had problems with the PS3 client before. Sometimes it works fine, and other times it buffers constantly. I haven't really had many problems with 360 client and it tends to hold an HD stream much more consistently. I have had this same sort of issue with the Netflix clients. For some reason, PS3's network connection just seems to be very inconsistent. I have the same issues when trying to use PS3's media servers as well. I try to use my 360 for streaming whenever possible.

I'm having loads of problems with the PS3 client lately. It will play one episode perfectly, and then the next episode I watch will pause nearly every 5 or 6 seconds.

The Daily Show was unwatchable last night using the Hulu+ app, but it played perfectly over the PlayOn app. Also my Netflix app on the PS3 never, ever skips a beat. It's a rock.

So, Hulu+ app is just a bit shitty on the PS3 I think?

I just signed up for the free week+month free trial, and I am completely unimpressed so far. Other than the Criterion section, the rest of the site seems incredibly lacking. Either what I want to watch only has a handful of episodes, or I can't view what I want anywhere other than on my computer, and various other things like that.

Sorry for the bump, but not worthy enough to make a new thread over this.

Hulu Plus is really pissing me off. First, this BS of having web only shows and not being allowed to watch them on the app. But when I try to watch the show through my browser it redirects me to my app! Fuxk being penalized for having the "superior" service.
