For the record, this wasn't so much his last awesome idea as an awesome idea he had in 1978, as documented in Fear and Loathing on the Road to Hollywood, available as an extra on the ultra-swank Criterion DVD of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Either way, it's still awesome.
