It starts off with some Wind Waker hate, but it eventually hits this tidbit

What I'm most intrigued by, however, is the wolf mechanic. Link changes into the beast. I don't know how this plays into the storyline or the adventure, but I'm really, super psyched to give this mechanic a try.

First confirmation of Link actually being the wolf?

Some voices from inside Nintendo claim that Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto asked "why are they not clapping?" when the new Wind Waker look was met with stunned silence at the initial unveiling. When you expect chocolate ice cream and you bite into a scoop of liverwurst instead, "pleasant surprise" are usually not the words that come to mind to describe the experience

I still have that classic EGM magazine when they first broke Zelda and Shiek on the cover. That was the last I really paid attention to with the Hyrule Times. But it was a nice article

Link is not the wolf. Aonuma was asked if Link was the wolf in a interview (forget which =/) and basically expressed he wasn't but it was someone else.

It better not be Zelda ("twilight" princess = the wolf in front of the moon at the end of the trailer). That would be lame (slim chance anyways).

If that is true and the name is offical then Zelda is the "wolf" and judging by the name she turns into it a night. If there is a day/night mechanic in the game that could lead to some intresting stuff!

i think zelda as the wolf would actually kick ass... it allows for some wierd story elements that would be very different from the previous games.

Maybe Nintendo will pull a MGS2, and an hour into the game, Link gets bumped on the head, and you play as Princess Zelda (who also turns into a wolf) for the rest of the game.
