I’m an AI influencer: Followers crave my sexy snaps — but I don’t exist

If I dedicate a big portion of my life to video games, I can't really knock dudes for playing along with this fantasy. They have just as much right as I do to enjoy a harmless hobby. I think we could all learn something from them. Life is nothing if you're not having fun. That's it--I'm convinced; time for ol' Grildy to get an AI girlfriend.
It's not harmless. It is isolating and self-defeating. People need to go out and actually try to meet women, pair up, etc.

I get that it's not worth the effort, but I was actually curious to hear your reasoning articulated.
I mean, it should be obvious in my reply. If you want intimacy with another person, getting some shitty simulation of it from an AI girlfriend is not going to help you get it. it's completely fake. It doesn't help you grow as a person or reach your goals. It's ultimately just keeping you from going out and doing what you need to do to get what you want. You'll never have a real relationship with a robot. You won't have a marriage, or a family. Just talking to an AI, alone in your house. We've all seen "Her", right?

The real problem, with stuff like this, and even pornography, is that our brains can't really tell the difference on a chemical level between the real thing and the fake stuff. Our brains were not evolved in a world of AI and computer screens. So you get the emotional, dopamine hit with your AI girlfriend without actually putting in the work.

I was trying to be facetious with my first post. I mostly agree with @diffusion; I want to play a kind of devil's advocate though because I can see where someone who is suicidally lonely finds solace in a fake AI girlfriend, and in that case it wouldn't be necessarily self-defeating. Or someone else who doesn't have the goals that were described above wouldn't be too bothered by not achieving them.

I could see a future where the algorithm is good enough that so many people use it that it'd become the norm, like in "Her". I can also see where, like video games, some people won't have enough self-control to stop even when it is a problem. Not saying that's the world I want, but it could happen. Whether it's right or wrong is a matter of which belief system you hold, and belief systems are unfalsifiable.

My fantasy is that my girlfriend was actually a young high school girl.
Most influencers don't exist. They fake.

This has to be ridiculously easy way to make money - get AI profile, rake in simps and ad money.
Wait, you are telling me social media can get even more fake?

How long until AI can replicate OnlyFans videos and images looking like some hot chick but really run by someone looking like Gabe Newell can make $100k a week from?

I think AI will eventually kill off a lot of internet porn, to be honest. It's one thing to get ChatGPT to write a screenplay that can rival Scorcese or Nolan, but it's probably quite easy to reach the point of producing photorealistic fap material. And there's no moral issues with exploitation either.

But if our brains can't tell the difference, IS there a difference? Obviously there are loads of things that a real person can do that a robot or AI can't, and I'd say that its the opposition that a person puts up, the need to compromise, to have to use empathy and humility to accommodate another persons desires instead of your own, that really separates a "100% to please you" simulation from a real person.

But from a functional perspective, a conversation or sexual encounter with a robot generates everything a biological partner would.
