Lil Wayne’s rhymes remain tight and production strikes a fair balance between trademark southern sounds and deformed, galactic offerings. With a more specific theme than expected of his widely anticipated The Carter IV album, I’m Not A Human Being nevertheless maintains the rapper’s appeal, explores his musical creativity and ushers him back amongst today’s elite stars.

Fans expecting to hear about prison fights, prison food, and prison guards might have to wait until Lil Wayne is released and can safely look back at his time doing time. “I Am Not A Human Being” sounds less like an album about life in jail, and more like an album about the good life Lil Wayne used to enjoy on the outside.

I thought the album was decent, sounds like typical Wayne. Some pretty nice punchlines used in some of the songs, 4 Drake features on the album was a bit much but the variation between singing Drake and rapping Drake helped to diversify them a bit.

Nikki Minaj with no rap verse on any song upset me a bit considering her ridiculous verse on Monster but strangely her singing wasn't that bad on "What's Wrong With Them" probably my favorite song on the album right above "Gonerrhea" and "Right Above It".

I'm sure once I listen to the album a few more times the other songs will grow on me, "I am not a Human Being" sounds a bit like Phone Home off the C3.

Overall a much better showing then the ridiculousness that was Rebirth.

Didn't find any other threads, searched quite a bit

There is a huge hip hop thread.

Yeah but I saw that Good Ass Job has it's own thread, and so do the other Wayne Mixtapes and albums.

Figured this was par for the course

But lock if discussion is happening elsewhere

It's more like 3 Drake features; he's nowhere to be found on I'm Single even though he's credited on the tracklist. Unless my ears are terrible.

I thought it was decent after one listen, nothing too terribly impressive though.

Gonorrhea (can't believe I just typed that) and Right Above It were probably the two I liked the most. BTW Nicki raps on YM Salute (which recycles Jeezy's "Momma Told Me" beat which I don't mind as I think that beat is awesome).

YM Salute (feat. Young Money)
YM Banger (feat. Jae Millz, Gudda Gudda & Tyga)

Goddamn I fucking hate this guy. Sure you aren't, just like I am much aware of the fact that you have no idea what misanthropy is. For if you did, you would understand you are part of the problem.

Supposedly these are a collection of tracks that were to be on Carter 4 but Wayne wanted to record new stuff upon his release...

There were rumors that the '30 minutes to new orleans' track from the documentary would be included on this album but I was disappointed to see it wasn't... still waiting for it, maybe Carter 4?

Yeah, I heard that rumor as well. If it's true, glad most of them (I'm Single was on No Ceilings) are on this rather then Carter IV.

I was once a psych major, and I understand the concept of misanthropy.

I have no problem being part of the problem, beats are good.

Art thou in a disagreeable mood?

If it helps you feel any better the idea to title the release that way was probably inspired by the fact that people compared is face to that of an alien's or the fact that he always mentions that he's BURDMAN JOONYAH

a dumbass, no talent rich guy.

He was in the gifted program all through his school life. He wrote his first rap song at 8. IMO he's a smart guy.

Sure he shot himself. Shit happens.

This. Most (all?) of the songs on this album were probably recorded a long time ago.

I hated it to death on my first listen, now, I still think its not very good.

Too many good Hip Hop albums out to bother with this mediocre one, but I'm sure his fan base will make this sell loads.

Of what I've listened to so far, it ain't got shit on No Ceilings.

But I'll give it time, I'm sure it'll grow on me.

So basically this is shit he recorded before he went into the slammer, and now they did stuff over random shit he made and are putting it out shortly before he's released from jail in order to get media attention due to his impending release. Got it.

My attitude towards Weezy is, he releases a lot of songs. Most shit, then you get the gems, like Carter 3 and some of No Ceilings.

Just disregard Rebirth and the other sub par mixtapes.

That was before the drug use.
