I am really looking forward to Baten Kaitos

November is a damn tight month, but somehow I must make room for Baten Kaitos! It's a Namco RPG afterall.

I have only heard positive things about it, and that is features an amazing soundtrack. The japanese correspondant on IGN said the ending lasted for 90 minutes. That's crazy!

Any others looking forward to Baten Kaitos?

Tri-Ace used to be part of Wolf Team (Tales developers), and it shows

Ahh, OK. But haven't Tri-Ace been making Star Ocean games since the SNES days? And they're still influenced by the Tales games? Or did people from Wolf Team leave for Tri-Ace later on?

I really want this game. I can't afford it, but it is #1 on my Christmas list.

Wolf Team made Tales of Phantasia for Namco. Half of WT leaves and forms Tri-Ace under Enix, the other half turns into Namco Tales Studio. I believe a small portion breaks off and forms Camelot.

Interestingly enough, if I recall correctly Motoi Sakuraba only composes for games made by employees from the original Wolf Team. At least, the majority of his game soundtracks come from these dev teams.

Chrono Cross is one of my favorite games period, so im very much looking forward to this :)

What does Baten Kaitos have to do with the Tales team or Tri-Ace? It's a game by Monolithsoft, the same people responsible for Xenosaga episode 1 and 2.

I'll rent the game and see how it goes.

Pretty sure Camelot were formed through Sonic Games or some such name brand under Sega, they essentially created the Shining Force series then Beyond the Beyond after they broke off from Sega. It is true that there were some developers from Wolf Team who ran into Camelot, hence why Motoi Sakuraba did the music for Shining Force III and the two Golden Sun titles.

Also Masato Kato is a main force behind Baten Kaitos, which he also was in Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross.
