what happened? those look like the things i had hooked up to me for a week or two.

EDIT: Me? A lot better some minor internal bleeding and a little problems here and there. I'm still on some meds to help me out, they've been weening me off of them. I'm still kind of sick from time to time but not really as bas as December and November. I'm hoping to get some more positive news about my right ventrical though. it was giving me problems all of december so they put me on some heart medication and nitro glcerin. I'm gonna have to be on that med for at least 3 years or so.

I've had five kidney stones, but the PICC line isn't there because of those problems. It's for the Cystic Fibrosis, and right now, it's more of a precautionary measure. Haven't received meds through the line in about a week.

What's the danger with the CF right now?

Insufficient digestion?

At least you're not in the hospital.

Mother.. did each one hurt as bad as the last?

Mainly respiratory problems. Currently, only 38% of CF patients live past the age of 18. But yes, digestion is also a big problem, but that along with the respiratory problems vary from person to person.

Oh, I thought a majority made it past 20 these days. I was doing some background research on it recently but the info on the net is kind of all over the place. Most seem to be really optimistic about the treatment of CF.. maybe because most of the sites I checked are for families of patients.

After my PhD is complete here in Wisconsin I'm going to be all about respiratory research.. hopefully in CALI!!

Oooh, maybe I can do some research on you Lonestar AKA Incognito.

"Shit man, I'd have killed myself by now."

Not the positive emotional support CF patients typically require...

I'm up for some research. :lol

Anyway, patients tend to be more optimistic about treatments, but I think that's because such treatments(IV) are very, very powerful and sucesseful. But such treatments can only last so long, so it's up to the patient themselves to really force the issue as far as exercise, eating, and breathing treatments; otherwise, they, like a lot of other CF patients at the hospital I attend, will be finding themselves admitted 5-6 times a year.

That's unacceptable to me and I was only admitted twice during 2004.

Desperado, if you're a patient with that attitude, you're in a world of hurt.
