I called EB this morning

So this morning I called the two local EB, to inquire about trade-in prices for my gamecube and my DS with the boxes and everything intact. They told me that they don't, and can't accept any more GCs and DSs for a while since they are overstocked on used hardware.

My last hope are the local pawnshops, But I'm not to strong on the idea of using them. Any gaffers or maybe EB-working gaffers care to shime in on the situation?

Ebay. Why are you trading them in?

The dude is right, Ebay, because pawnshops will rip you off even worse than game stores.

I however will buy your DS for 2,500 virtual cookies...

Nobody around my parts takes GCs anymore. One store said they haven't taken a GC unit for about two years and haven't sold one for even longer than that. Most of them have had their fill of DS and PSPs as well.

I don't believe that they haven't sold a Cube in over two years. Either they lied to you, or they lied to you.

No, seriously. I'm in the market for a Cube and a DS (I don't yet own either of them). Instead of giving EB a good deal, why not give a fellow Gaffer a good deal?

Good luck selling the GC for more than 20 - 50 bucks. You might as well just keep the damn thing and use it as a "100 dollar paperweight".

Wow my gamestop cant keep used gamecubes in stock (the one i work at) and we had tons of used ds's but they have been selling like crazy and we have only 1/4th of em left since nintendogs release O_O

What sort of price does Gamestop give on trade-ins of those two systems?

boggles my mind when people trade in with these prices

Yep, the land of 100% profit compells gamestores to keep screwing over the public. Hook, line, and sinker....

Me too. Thirty dollars shouldn't be enough to convince any gamer to part with a GameCube now, as Zelda will be out in a few months.

And DS is going to be around long enough that even if you hate it now, it's bound to come out with some surefire must have game in two years, causing to regret your $50 dumping of it. I could never see why anyone would dump a console a year after it came out.

Jesus fucking christ!!!!!!!! overstocked on used hardware? who the fuck are they kidding. That has to be the biggest line of bullshit I've ever heard. Talk to the manager, then talk to the district manager.

Yeah because they're quick sales. On Ebay, you have to wait for days and it may not go through.

Anyway, I have an Ebay auction. $90 for a GC, GB Player, Freeloader, and 16 games.
