goddamit, Griese!
It's been too long since we've had one of our Tool/Maynard jerk-off threads.
Those that get it, get it. Those that don't....well, sorry.

Lateralus is the best cd ever recorded, and Ænima is right behind it

Best music ever. Can I get a hey?

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will.
I sure could use a vacation from this

Bullshit three ring circus sideshow of
Freaks

Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call LA
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time. Any fucking day.
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay.

Fret for your figure and
Fret for your latte and
Fret for your lawsuit and
Fret for your hairpiece and
Fret for your prozac and
Fret for your pilot and
Fret for your contract and
Fret for your car.

It's a
Bullshit three ring circus sideshow of
Freaks

Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call LA
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time. Any fucking day.
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay.

Some say a comet will fall from the sky.
Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by faultlines that cannot sit still.
Followed by millions of dumbfounded dipshits.

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will cuz
I sure could use a vacation from this

Silly shit, stupid shit...

One great big festering neon distraction,
I've a suggestion to keep you all occupied.

Learn to swim.

Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Mom's comin' round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Learn to swim.

Fuck L Ron Hubbard and
Fuck all his clones.
Fuck all those gun-toting
Hip gangster wannabes.

Learn to swim.

Fuck retro anything.
Fuck your tattoos.
Fuck all you junkies and
Fuck your short memory.

Learn to swim.

Fuck smiley glad-hands
With hidden agendas.
Fuck these dysfunctional,
Insecure actresses.

Learn to swim.

Cuz I'm praying for rain
And I'm praying for tidal waves
I wanna see the ground give way.
I wanna watch it all go down.
Mom please flush it all away.
I wanna see it go right in and down.
I wanna watch it go right in.
Watch you flush it all away.

Time to bring it down again.
Don't just call me pessimist.
Try and read between the lines.

I can't imagine why you wouldn't
Welcome any change, my friend.

I wanna see it all come down.
put it down.
suck it down.
flush it down.

I heartily agree with the sentiments expressed in this post.

I've been listening to Salival lately and Third Eye Live is now one of my favorite songs ever. The recorded version doesn't come close.

Tool is godly, i can't wait for that brand new shiny album sitting in my hands *drool*

Have any of you who posted in this thread and showed appreciation towards Tool never consumed any drugs whatsoever? :lol

Posting is thread now, and I have never used an illegal substance.

Hell, I've never been drunk. Does meet your criteria?

If you're honest, which I'd be inclined to believe, yes.

I've never had any of those, nor alcohol for the record. :lol

IAWTP - But I have a bad feeling that we won't see (and hear!) it until 2006.
1. We haven't gotten any new information about it since a long time and I think news would have to come out really soon from now to lead up to a release date in 2005.
2. 2005 already has the new Queens of the Stone Age and the new Nine Inch Nails album to offer. Together with the Pete and Pete DVDs and the next Legend of Zelda game, a new Tool album would make 2005 the best.year.ever.[/comicbookguy] - what would I have to look forward to in 2006?

I agree. Each consecutive album isn't quite as good as the last. Undertow's production sounds like complete shit, though.

They're a pretty decent band, but I can't see the complete obsession with them I guess. Certainly not enough to have Maynard circle jerks once a month. :\

I hate to choose, but I agree if only for track 69 and "Bottom" with Henry Rollins.

SET MY HEAD ON FIRE!

And for me, as for as live songs go, it has to be "You Lied"

Seriously.

Undertow had a some nice moments, and I quite liked the production personally. Had more of a punk edge to it. The subsequent polish and meandering / pretence became tiresome.

Good grief I used to be fucking nuts about that band :/ OGT back from 92 and the first ep. Heh.

Frances the Mute just matched up with Lateralus for me, but Lat is still awesome.
Really? I don't know, I think Frances the Mute has a lot of filler.
But this is a Tool thread... aren't they coming out with a new album this year?

This is true. I'm a huge fan of next-to-no production for most stuff. It sounds pretty cool, but it gets kinda muddy, and I guess if I'm listening to them, I'd prefer it to be a bit more clean sounding. That's like blasphemy coming from me, though, seriously. I haven't listened to it too much lately. I was wild about it when it first came out, but listened to it like, shit, three times in the last five years.

I'm sure I'll pick up the new album when it's released. Depends on when Maynard has time, I guess. He seems like he'd be a big of a (gigantic) cock to work with....

if there is one band that could feasibly rival the pumpkins as greatest band of all-time, it would be tool.

and if you haven't seen tool live yet, do yourself... nay, your legacy as a human being... a favor and fork over the $80+ to see them. greatest show of all-time, and its probably even better if you are high (sadly i dont do drugs)
