And the reason I feel this was is due to seeing so many freeking posts with people hailing Shadow of the Colossus as there GOTY, I hadnt been folowing this game, but after reading all the posts I looked in to it and realized it was the next game from the ICO team. unfourtinatly I never bought ICO, I did play a demo years ago, and liked what I played, but never got around to picking it up (now it seems it's kinda hard to find, though I could be wrong) but anyway I picked up SotC a couple days ago at EB. I wasnt sure if I should or not though seeing as I hadnt seem much about it other than GAF and apperantly IGN raving about it, but it was also only $49.99 CAD so I said what the hell and got it, and damnit am i ever glad I did, Good work GAF, your ravings have made me buy this and also Lost season 1, and I cant say I am dissapointed in either Thanks GAF, keep up the good work.

Some of my faves so far have been #3, #5, and #13. #11 was a pain in the ass

with the cheap move where if it rams you, you take 5 seconds to wake up only to be ramed again, I got hit like 5 times in a row at one point

. Overall, amazing game, #16, here I come.

This games rules, just finished it a while back, now I gotta ask to those who have completed it several times.

Is there an alternate ending or something? because being given controle twice diring the end makes me think there would be, I didnt manage to hit a single one of the soldiers as they fled, but if you do, what happens? Also what is the point of giving you controle when being sucked in to the hole? because all I can think of is to show the player how completaly and truly fucked he is.

Either way, very cool ending. #16 was great, though annoying at times.

Do try to find Ico, I think you'll quite enjoy it. It's totally different from Shadow, but still maintains the awesome atmosphere and general graphical style.

I stopped playing SotC. The controls and camera just became too much of a problem for me. I did love the aesthetics and atmosphere though. Too bad the gameplay is so awful.

I have to agree. Nice game, but it seemed limited by the hardware. It's a little single minded too, though beautiful. I wouldn't seriously consider it goty or anything.

Although I hate turning this into a framerate thread, I've got to add that framerates far below 30 can be detrimental to gameplay. If SotC is indeed 15fps (as posted earlier) perhaps they should have cut detail a bit or waited until next gen.

i didnt learn about SotC until i read this forum either. i bought it yesterday and relapsed into my game addiction. now i have something to piss away more hours of my life on.

The framerate is anywhere between 60 and 15 or even lower. The majority of the time it is 30 though, but not too solid.

The framrate isnt that bad, the only time it was really noticly bad for me with while fighting #13. I dont know if I would say it's GOTY for me, (I really am not sure what is yet) but I can deffinatly understand how it is for others. Deffinatly a fav this year.
