RevenantKioku said:I'm considering signing up for the TRU one, because the benefits come pretty easily, plus I work there, so I can use the coupons with my discount for more the cheapened gaming. I've just never had a CC before, so I have no idea about anything.

This'll be my third credit card. I kept getting denied for the Amazon one, but the fact that I've religiously paid my CapitalOne credit card before they've even sent me statements probably tipped credit in my favor.
American Express also keeps sending me letters for a pre-approved gold card, but I don't want one.

Don't apply unless you're relatively sure that you'll get in.
RevenantKioku said:Seriously? Well how the hell would I be relatively sure I'd get in? I've never had a card before, and I'm not exactly familiar with what else builds your credit.

Well those are discounts that you would be getting with or without the card, right? That would make them kind of irrelevant if you are calculating the usefulness of the card.goodcow said:8% off all Amazon purchases with my Associates account, and 18% all Amazon purchases with my Associates account and Share the Love discounts.

1% off regular purchases, 3% off Amazon purchases seems kinda meh, but then again I'm not really getting shit from my credit card now. Do they mail you gift certificates or do you just get rebate codes at your e-mail address?
