I think they can get ESPN on satellite.

Although I don't know what kind of reception you can get hidden in a closet in the basement.

Because I mean, I'm on my way up, and I'd just like to be comfortable. If I'm going to have to live in a fucking closet where the marijuana plants grow because I head towards C-bake, I'll drive on over to Works.

He already said I've got the downstairs couch, due to my general mental stability problems. If I get there first, I'm taking a better spot, though. Like in bed next to Bish.

I don't mean to alarm you but you have dogs on your face

$600 CAD or USD?

Not that I'm putting in a bid, I'm already entrenched in Canada (and I don't have a basement, so no emigrating)

If you've really want to get far away from your home nation, I'll rent a room out for $400cdn a month. No utilities and you can share in some of our meals. Free cable and free dsl (through router).

The catch.. you'll be here ->

that's one damn big catch!

Newfoundland is the Alabama of Canada.

Holy shit, that guy's offering a friggin place in Newfoundland for $400?? I live in a nice neighborhood in Vancouver.

My offer now starts at $1000.

USD.

You know, if that's too much, you can always go to Iraq.

$600 would be a very generous offer.. damn. I live right in the heart of St. John's. Just bought this house with my fiancee in May and I'm having troubles at work currently. Most university students around here pay $400+ for a shitty room, no utilities and no nothing really. :p

ferrets ferrets ferrets ferrets FERRETS!!!
Losers contemplating emigration to Canada based on one stupid election have the totally wrong idea.

They should move to Alaska, not Canada! Cool summers! Free oil subsidies! Moose! Plus, it looks like the proposition that decriminalizes marijuana has a chance of passing!

Hey, Canada's thinking of decriminalizing marijuana too!
... of course, we have been for what seems like years now.

ferrets ferrets ferrets ferrets FERRETS!!!
Once again I bring up the free oil subsidies! It's like they're paying you to smoke up!

By the way, the above is a parody. If you are serious, and not simply posting BS to a video game forum, then you don't deserve to vote anyway

Marijuana is practically decriminalized in Vancouver. I've smoked up with a bunch of people on set of some Richard Pryer movie.. while they were filming. No one cares.

Yeah, weed is not a problem here. Just the other day, I saw an old guy rolling some joints up on the bus. When we got to our destination, he got out and smoked one.

Canadians get ESPN, what...?

You get it? None of the dish companies provide it..and ESPN hasn't pursued it. Canadians do not get ESPN. Maybe some people can get it illegally, but basically no.

Heh, I too am going to eventually get into the computer networking field, so I'm interested too. I'm 21 now, but you know, I could move in the next five years.

Toronto, Vancouver, and Ottawa have. Vancover has the cooler IT jobs (EA etc.), Toronto has more (financial industry). Ottawa is mostly research stuff, though that's dwindled I think.

Come to Vancouver. Maybe you'll be cast for X-Men 3! Oh joy lucky you!!! And if not, well, we have a healthy panhandling sector that's always looking for fresh, young go-getters.

In Quebec. We have unlimited hot girls, an incredible night life, and cheap cost of living.
And the highest taxes in North America. But then again, you do have hot women.

IT in Ottawa is slowly getting better. Nortel is still the central pillar of anything IT here though, so alot of it is hanging on them, or on small Telcos surrounding them. In fact, most of major companies here are Telcos. The only 2 major that I can think of that aren't are Cognos and Adobe.

*currently hunting for an IT job in Ottawa*

I don't know much about Toronto or Montreal, but I've heard both are in better shape than Ottawa, because they're not so centered on Telecom as we are here.

No one wants to hide out from the draft/civil war/John Titor name-dropping in Manitoba? :| Maybe in 3 years when Mainline and I are chilling in the new arena (walk by it every day, looks pretty sweet now that it's almost done) and cheering on the Manitoba Penguins. Or maybe the Winnipeg Thrashers. Whichever, I'm not picky.

The rejection hurts. But then again, I've always imagined GAFers, much like internet forum users at large, to be a somewhat smelly ill-kempt group of mofos, so maybe it's for the best.

You know you want it.
