Lets just take a look at this shit:

Angel - CANCELLED
Angel-Cast-2003-01s.jpg

Fuck You TV. And you too WB. Double for you in fact. You murdered a good show cause stupid execs who dont even have time to watch tv sez so. Bastards: every one of you.

Firefly - CANCELLED
firefly_cast_small.jpg

AHH. Wtf! Its Cowboys in FUCKING SPACE! You motherFUCKS. Joss' best shit and fucking TV poos all over it so it can give unholy birth to more reality programming. FUCK!

Enterprise - STILL GOING! WTF YOU FUCK FUCKS!?!
entcast.jpg

So lemme see, umm I dont fucking get it. Even star trek FANS hate it. I suspect the only thing that keeps the ratings somewhat poor but not unbelievably awful is that star trek fans watch it to pick it apart and compare it to BETTER STAR TREK SHOWS!

I was going to make a flow chart but here's the run down:

--Angel--
Hot Chicks: Check
Fighting: Check
People Shooting Angel Not Knowing He's a Vampire Then he Shows Them and They Freak: Check
Epic: Check

The show was at its peak, it was getting better than BETTER and the fans were there but you FUCKISJDHDHDHDKLHFKSDHFKLJSADF Plus Wesley rocked and they ended up killing him anyway but SPOILERS PETER PARKER IS SPIDERMAN F U!

--Firefly--
Hot Chicks: Check, all of them. Except River, who was only hot when she did that shoot with her eyes closed thing which was fucking anime badass. WOOOO!
Fighting: Check
Badass Captain That Breaks Rules: Check
Hot Whore on Board: Check
AWESOME CAST AND GREAT WRITING: CHECK

The only consolation is that a movie is being made, its a real crying shame in any event cause the awesome cast, story, setting, acting, holy shit this show had more potential than buffy and angel combined fucking whores jesus!

--Enterprise--
Hot Chicks: 1, but less hot every episode since she gets naked all the time it loses its appeal.
Fighting: Only When Archer isn't playing with his dog or talking a lot or the doctor saying something thats funny cause he's an alien and is DIFFERENT CAUSE WE MUST MOCK THOSE THAT ARE DIFFERENT FROM THE NORM
Every Plot revolving around wormholes and cockrings: Check
Idiot Cast I hate Forever: Check

Who would win in a fight?: Angel vs Firefly vs Enterprise

Angel would win cause he's a FREAKING VAMPIRE but firefly could toast enterprise with a cool special move fireball thing like that shit from Street Fighter.

That's why I hate TV.

Plus in Star Trek when they give girl aliens stupid ears or wrinkles or paint them green, they look worst. In Angel when the made Fred into Illyria and gave her contacts and weird blue mottled skin and blue hair and shit, she got EVEN FUCKING HOTTER!

Bastards.

Serenity better do so well that it turns into a franchise. I don't care if it's movies or TV or what, just keep it going! I don't want to have to start buying X-Men comics.

The Shield, when I have cable, I might start watching cause its a badass anti-hero cop beating shit up.

I watched nip tuck and it seemed like it was trying to be all "OOOH DID THAT HAPPEN, DID HE SAY THAT?!" in the same way sex and the city was, different context of course but it always feels like its trying. Like the one on tonight about doing a surgery to restore a woman's genitals to working order and he's like "If I build it, she will come" haha very funny stfu and sit down.

Lord Error

Insane For Sony
TV rocks if you know what to watch
You speak the truth, but Nip/Tuck is kinda crappy. It tries to be artful like 6 Feet Under, but falls flat on it's face because it's a bit too blatant and trashy. I would put Curb Your Enthusiasm instead of it.

Anyway, point is - there are still good shows on the TV, but killing off Angel was downright idiotic. The last season was so good, I couldn't believe.

Deadwood is fucking fantastic. Everyone with a soul must watch season 1 before they air the next one.

Other than that...yep...everything good has either ended or been cancelled.

I've just read that on some Australian talk show, James Marsters (Spike) mentioned that Joss Whedon has asked him to star in one of four TV movies. Apparently each will focus on one character from the Buffyverse and either all of them will be made, or none will.

Sounds to me (and to the article I read) like the stories will all interweave if they all have to be made. They speculate that it could be Spike, Willow, Giles and Wesley. Giles makes sense I suppose as Joss has wanted to do a Watcher thing for ages (though the whole point of that was to make something for the BBC so maybe not) and I wouldn't be at all surprised by Willow being another...but Wesley? Catch up people, it's going to be Illyria if anyone. Maybe Oz....who knows, hope it gets made though. Depends what commitments people have I suppose.

Canceled my dish nearly year ago, cant say I feel I missing much. Well until reality tv crap ends :) Though I am runnning out books that I think i enjoy.
Savings $500 plus already.

I got tired of monk after 6 episodes. Every damned episode was:

CRIME!
Take Monk to Crime Scene
"Haha he's dumb and damaged, he can do nothing"
Idiot Savant Monk Solves Crime by knowing the script in advance.
Everyone amazed and feels bad for judging the handicapped man before seeing his results.
Monk and his keeper smile knowingly.
Monk spends 5 minutes trying to take out garbage without taking out garbage.

24 rules tho.

Joss Whedon made TV for me.

Since Joss Whedon is no longer on TV, TV can go fuck itself.

Oh, wait, except Scrubs, that's still on right?

Firefly is SO good. You can seriousely tell that all the actors (especially Nathan) absolutely adored the show. Which just added a bit more to the performances (which were stellar).

The only thing I disliked about Firefly was the "Hearts of Gold" episode.

Everything else was absolutely amazing. My favorite TV show ever.

That's why it's great to be a sports fan. You have great suff to watch all year round. Except NBA which is only really good the last month of the regular season and playoffs. TV sucks without cable though, NFL Network is freaking awesome. Other than sports, all I watch are movies, cartoons and occasional news. Oh, and some HBO at times.

My favorite scene is still the 'kicking the guy into firefly's intake' thing in like episode 3 or something.

or "We were going to take him up to the infirmary but he's HEAVY" haha. GREAT SHIT!

saying that it's good to be a sports fan because you always have something to watch is like saying that lobotomies are great because you never have to think again.

BUT WAIT, that's not much of an analogy because the statements are IDENTICAL

There's just way too much goodness to single out one thing.

I'm just going to pick a random thing.

Haha, I know. I'll take two things from 'The Message'. There's this scene where Zoe is explaining about how the first rule of battle is to never let them know where you are, then Mal runs in screaming and shooting his gun. Hillarious scene.

Then of course there's the greatness that is Jayne's hat!

haha, some more favorites (pulled from the web):

Jayne: (drinking tea) This ain't bad.
Badger: There's a trick to it. Wood alcohol.
Mal: So now we're favored guests, treated to beverages that make you blind.

Jayne: [into radio] Testing. Captain, can you hear me?
Mal: I'm standing right here.
Jayne: [into radio] You're coming in good and loud, too.
Mal: 'Cause I'm standing right here.

Zoe: Jayne, this is something the Captain has to do on his own.
Mal: (fighting for his life) No...no it's not!
Zoe: Oh. (shoots)

Zoe: We're getting him back.
Jayne: (staring at Mal's severed ear) What are we going to do - clone him?

Ghost

Chili Con Carnage!
I hate all the stuff on TV at the moment, all the drama at the moment is trying to be so damn edgy, like Nip/Tuck, WHY CANT YOU JUST BE ENTERTAINING, i dont need to see some fat cow getting lard pumped out of her stomach, thats not entertaining.

Sopranos was the only show that I regularly watched. Now, since it's over, I never really watch TV.

I'd rather go on the computer, go outside, <i>play a game<i>, read, or something else...

On another...what are Six Feet Under and Deadwood about?

Haha, Firefly cracked me up. It's not a quote, but I remember...I think it's from the pilot and Zoe's husband is complaining about how she sides with Mal and says something like "Make sure to call him captain, he likes that". Then when Mal comes up, and she does call him captain, Wash gives her this little thumbs up and I just cracked up.

Oh and:

Jayne: Anyone remember (River) coming at me with a knife?
Wash: Wacky times.

Just cracks me up for some reason. I can just see Wash saying it.

Personally Shindig didn't do it for me out of the episodes. Jane Espenson shouldn't be allowed near Firefly scripts, she's just not good enough.

Was the the one with the sword fight? I liked that one when the fight ends:

"Mal: Mercy is the mark of a great man. (spares Atherton) I guess I'm just a good man. (pokes Atherton with his sword) Well, I'm alright."

No it's not. TV exists to entertain. Sports are a form of entertainment for the spectator. A sports fan can watch sports and be entertained year-round with good sports, while I see people in this thread bitching about TV sucking. I agree that most TV sucks, that's why it's good to be a sports fan, I don't have to worry about crappy corporate programming, I can be entertained by great atheletes competing in different sports.

Food Network is also great.

On another...what are Six Feet Under and Deadwood about?

Six Feet Under:
A drama series that takes a darkly comical look at members of a dysfunctional Pasadena family that runs an independent funeral home. With the prodigal elder son (Peter Krause) returning home for the holidays to shattering news, the family must learn to deal with a death of their own, while figuring out how to go ahead with the business of the living. A funny and emotional look at a grieving American family...that just happens to be in the grief management business

Really dark humor, third season is mostly depressing, fourth season just started and season 2 just came out on DVD today.

Deadwood:
The town of Deadwood, South Dakota in the weeks following the Custer massacre is a lawless sinkhole of crime and corruption. Into this uncivilized outpost ride a disillusioned and bitter ex-lawman, Wild Bill Hickok, and Seth Bullock, a man hoping to find a new start for himself. Both men find themselves quickly on opposite sides of the legal and moral fence from Al Swearengen, saloon owner, hotel operator, and incipient boss of Deadwood. The lives of these three intertwine with many others, the high-minded and the low-lifes who populate Deadwood in 1876.

Really tense western tv series, with Al Swearengen, the best villain ever, really funny at points also. Season 1 just ended so who knows when the DVD will come out.
