I have control of my neighbor's Roku.

So the church next door to our apartment building must have recently upgraded their wifi. I started using my roommates new to tv to connect to their network and stream youtube, WWE, etc, rather than connecting the really crappy free comcast internet we have access to. I just went to sync my phone's youtube app to the tv only to realize there was another device on the network that I could sync to. I figured there was a lounge in the church and they must have had a Roku set up in it. I logged into youtube and just hit "Never gonna give you up" by Rick Astley and led it ride and forgot about it.

At the same time I noticed that someone else in our building started playing some music or something because me and my roommate both noticed some low bass notes echoing through the apartment. Then I noticed that when I exited the app the music stopped.

A light bulb went off.

Someone else in our complex is also stealing their wifi. We went in a mad dash running around trying to figure out which apartment it is. Turns out it's on the first floor room right in front of the front entrance to our building. It then occurred to me that there must be a roku remote application. Which I then of course promptly downloaded, synced it to the device and then left a search open for, "We are watching you sleep."

What do I do gaf?

EDIT: I just realized that I can stream any files from my phone to their roku. Holy crap.

No one man should have all that power
The clock's ticking', I just count the hours
Stop tripping', I'm tripping' off the power

So you are stealing a Church's wifi (does this church house the priest as well? Mine does, and they all use the same wifi), slowing it down, and then Rick Roll a church lounge?

You're going to hell.

Also, can't this downstairs neighbor do the same thing to your devices?

So that means your devices all all open and accessible to whoever else is connected. RIP.

Make them watch The Ridiculous 6 on Netflix.

Nope, none of our other devices are connected to that network. We normally piggyback off of a guest xfinity wifi signal and use a login account under my parent's subscription. The signal is kind of weak in the corner of the room that the TV is in and it'll really only consistently get a decent signal from the church.

None of the tv's apps are capable of just auto starting like the roku does, and even then there's typically a pairing with a security code that needs to be done with most apps. The roku has none of these security features apparently and is just open to whoever wants to fuck with it.

Not totally sure I feel I'm ready to escalate to that level yet. It's tempting but it'll take time to think of something particularly disgusting enough to blast the lower floors ears with. I mean... I guess Boku could be particularly fun..

But I have to download it to my phone and then stream it over the less than stellar wifi to the device. That could get dicey.

EDIT: That's also probably a really bad idea because the dude plays his shit loud. If I start trolling the entire lower half of the building with the moaning and screaming of seemingly prepubescent Japanese boys someone's going to get upset. And the management will likely finger the two folks hanging out in front of the dude's door dancing to "never gonna give you up" while laughing hysterically in front of the security camera as the culprit.

Which would be me.

Sometimes I forget GAF has a bunch of 16 year olds as members.

C'mon man, what you're doing isn't really funny.

I mean in all seriousness it might not be. But while I read gaf at midnight... this shit is hilarious.

There is nothing wrong with trolling with some respect. No porn, no hentai no strange ass shit that can get anyone into serious trouble.
