I went to WAGs boutique and all I got was a sniff
I have my end of year exam in three weeks and I'm screwed. Its not my GCSE exam, Ive got one year for that but its still important. I just can't be arsed revising. Its my easter holiday, which is two weeks so I have quite a bit of time to revise, but everytime I sit at my desk I look at my books and say fuck it and go do something else. If I do revise, I probably get two pages read and half a question done. Its a very bad habit but I cant help it, I have absolutely no motivation to revise.

My parents are expecting results and my dad is following my revision that its just completely distracting.

After the exams, you guys probably wont ever hear from me again because any form of entertainment will be taken away from me and all I will have left is a desk with hundreds of different maths books

here's an idea:

Work at your kitchen table. You can't do anything else in there except whatever the work is you need to do. I either do my studying and stuff either in the kitchen or bathroom, because I can't get anything done anywhere else.

Yeah, well I need to ace my next accounting test and final, and get pretty much every point left in the class to get a C+.

Today is the last day to withdraw too, and I don't know what to do...

:(

I have failed this symester i know it. Too much shit on my plate that i dont need. I'm gonna try and catch up over summer for some of my classes. Other than that i'm fucked. NO financial aid, i'll be pulling it out of my pocket.

If one thing is going good a million others are going bad.

Man, I really wouldnt want to be right now, that really does suck for you. Hope things get better.

As for working in the kitchen, it actually sounds like a good idea, but unfortunately I get distracted very easily. When no one is around you, burning stuff up in the oven can be a satisfying feeling.

Well, you could always tell your parents that you are having trouble studying because you cant concentrate. After that im sure they will force you to do your work. Of course, this way is quite annoying, but im sure it will be rather effective.

Go study at school cafeteria or at any other places. You wont be able to study in front of a computer, or with friends around.

Believe me, it works.

3 weeks is plenty of time. I have passed classes with only 2 days of studying before a test. It's a bad habit of mine, but it works for me.

Go the library and exercise some self restraint.

If you don't have any willpower there really is no "trick" to get any work done. Why don't you set daily goals for yourself as well and make them progressively more difficult. Say, read 100 pages in one day and then reward yourself by doing whatever it is you like to do.

I need to start getting off my ass and hitting the books. I have four weeks left in school. Whats worse is I have about 10 tests left in this amount of time. It will be test after test after test plus two weekly quizzes each week.

Ha! I've passed classes with only a single hour of studying before the final! And that was a B+!

I figure, if you procrastinate yet still end up with good results, procrastinate away.

For me, studying at school works so much better than home. It's probably because I've devised this little routine for myself...

You see because I work nights, I decided (especially after first semester :lol) that I should study everyday, and during the day, before work. Before work, things should be DONE. And done s'more!

Anyway, this worked out quite well. On Monday for example, I have 3 hours of spares, 2 of which I study during, the other one is for eating lunch and playing some 3S at the arcade :D I'm starting to go an hour early to school as well to get even more studying done.

How does it work? It's that whole getting yourself into a routine. The fact that you're studying in a library, (hopefully) surrounded by people who are also studying does wonders. Also, if you just start studying, which is the hardest part, going on isn't relatively hard, especially as you grasp just how much you need to know by whenever.

The bad part is, I can't study worth shit at home anymore, whereas last year I only studied at home and figured it was a waste of time actually bussing to school just to study - you can study anywhere!

Try to experiment, find where you're most productive, and stick with it. Stick with it man, that's the key - never break your routine.

Think of this as quitting smoking, except you're quitting on all those distractions around you.

3 Weeks! I once did a whole unit in 3 days two assignments one exam (and not much else) and still jagged a Distinction.

If you are struggling to study a few tips

1. Write allocated study time in a diary

2. Study at a library or Kitchen table there the two places I like to study

3. Don’t try to learn everything if you are stuck of time, just learn key concepts by reviewing old exam papers, talking to your teacher etc..

Yup, studying in "academic" places works wonders. I find it best to study at places where I'm surrounded by people doing things that I have absolutely no interest in doing. I'm not a poker player, so it's productive for me to go to my floor lounge when some of my friends are playing poler because it's easy for me to get things done there.

My dad is following my revisison and its a completet pain in the ass. He takes it so seriously and gets so pissed off when I make the smallest mistake or if I take a small break.
