They just have me downing 64oz of Gatorade mixed with Miralax and 4 tabs of Dulcolax.Ulcerative Colitis here. Very simple procedure and honestly the worst part is the drink they give you before that cleans you out. Plus the whole not eating for 24 hours before isn’t all that fun either.

You can shoot the doctor, just not with a firearm. If you cum. Don't shoot the doctor. They frown on that.

My uncle always told me, you can’t knock it till you try it.Doctors don't like to be ejaculated on. From my experiences at least.
Lucky. They have had me drinking a viscous mixed concoction of lemon flavored hell. 1 cup every 15 to 45 min.
Can you actually ejaculate during? You can shoot the doctor, just not with a firearm.
now the opposite for me is the upper endoscopy I’ve had to do twice. Once with a light sedative to relax me and once without one. That’s not fun at all.
Thank goodness they now have camera pill endoscopy. I just had wear a light machine for 8 hours and then returned it at the end of the day. The camera pill then gets flushed out with your waste after a bowel movement.
Why don’t the Japanese sedate?yeah I had a friend who did that. Said the pill was huge. Not sure if I could swallow one the size he claimed it was. Just wish that doctors in Japan did more of the procedures with sedation. I understand why they don’t but darn it’s tough to do. Hope I don’t have to do another one anytime soon.

Do they use a long tentacle with a camera on the end?I asked my doctor the same question actually after my colonoscopy (he did my upper endoscopy too) and he said it’s just the way it’s done here. Also it keeps costs down. The costs of both procedures in Japan are so cheap compared to say america that it’s literally unbelievable. He mentioned particularly that the insurance companies back in the states make the prices so high for those procedures and adding sedation makes it worse.
They did give me a medicine to calm me down a little when I had a panic attack during my first upper endoscopy but I was completely aware awake and feeling during the whole procedure. It’s weird doing it awake but that doctor was very good at the procedure and that helped. However the second time I did it I had another doctor do it and no extra medicine like its usually done here and it was harder. Strangely the colonoscopy awake wasn’t a problem at all. Also surprisingly it went by pretty quickly.
Maybe your doctor just didn’t want to scrounge around in your filthy asshole.Kinda glad my GI doctor didn't feel the need to do this when I was diagnosed with IBS. Was told to add fiber supplements, drink more water, and exercise. The problem cleared up but then I got lazy and now it's back. Getting older is a son of a bitch.
When people say sedation do they mean totally out cold? Or the kind where you are just semi-concious but not very lucid? Hope all is well, OP!
I’ll be completely out. There are two ways.
There is conscious sedation which is basically large dose of benzo + some opiate (plus heart monitor so that you don't OD and die by accident). It is OK but you feel kinda drugged when you wake up.
Also some people supposedly can wake up during it.
Then there is good stuff - propofol (the stuff that Michael Jackson died from). It's like a switch - lights out, then the stop the drip, lights on. No hangover, etc. More expensive so not all places have it and not all insurances want to pay for it.

I always heard that is one of the most painfull and invasive exam, maybe people with a very low pain tolerance?!Ulcerative Colitis here. Very simple procedure and honestly the worst part is the drink they give you before that cleans you out. Plus the whole not eating for 24 hours before isn’t all that fun either.
At most is mild discomfort during and shortly after the procedure. Depends on if you have any major inflammation in that region.
Opt for sedation. I didn't (Twice lol) and regretted it.
However the pain is different for each person. One person won't feel much, yet anther would be in absolute agony (Like me).
