I have spent 4 months worth of time watching Smallville

So this started with my GF coming over, and I was watching Smallville. She would get frustrated because I'm always watching Smallville. It got me thinking, not including ABC family re-runs or TNT. I have gone through the show at least 20 times. I started to ball park the numbers and it came out to 126 days which is like 4 months. Is that insane? I love the show I grew up on it. I remember being 7 watching the first episode with my Dad and sadly my father past away 2 months later that year. The show is not perfect and be a Soap Opera. What I love most is how they try play them off as if they are 14. Tom Welling got like 5'clock shadow. I can rant all day on how Lana is worst character in the show. How Alicia was best for Clark and when she died it had no effect. She was hung to death and it was Clark's fault but no 10 episodes later he is back with Lana "The Snake" Lang. What show have you watched the most?

Wow, that's insane. I think the show I've watched most in terms of total hours is That 70's Show. I've seen every episode at least three times.

I spent a whole summer watching every Transformers show that had been released here at that time (G1, Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory, BW, BM, RID, Armada, Energon, Cybertron). Did 26 episodes of Cybertron in one day.

Bringing on Tess Mercer and Calum Blue's young Zod; getting rid of Lana, and doubling down on Lois Lane made the latter seasons of Smallville far better than those crappy middle seasons.

Remember the Lana clones?

Ugh.

So glad we have Kreisberg and Berlanti now.

His Zod was really great

I've seen the entirety of Smallville twice through completely. I love the show, it reached a low point towards the end of Season 6 and all of 7, but I think they really brought it back and I enjoyed the final few seasons, especially 10. Really liked the finale too.

I'd say I've seen LOST the most. Seen the whole show in its entirety 5+ times, with the earlier seasons even more. I've never calculated the amount of time spent, I don't really care about that. I watch it every year.

Keep going. Make it a year before you die. Spend an entire year of your 75 year life watching wb networks semi-hit series Smallville. Beat the record!

Never forget the best battle in CW history.

Funny memory for me with that show: I literally thought Lana Lang was the Smallville 'interpretation' of Louis Lane for years watching it when I was a kid, since their names were so similar.

Edit: Re. Most watched show question, it'd have to be Stargate SG1 for me. Oddly enough only seen seasons 7-10, got S7 for my birthday back in the day then spent years rewatching 7-10 lol.

According to MAL, I have watched 82 days of anime in 6-7 years. One Piece was 231 hours for 578 episodes so that accounts for 9.6 days. Looks like I have 150 episodes to catch up on. Can't wait.
This dude has dedicated four months of his life to this show. Show some restraint man.

I've probably watched more of South Park.

Whenever I catch up on Hulu with the latest season I go back to season 2 and replay the whole thing. Best background show

OP keep in mind I am not being hyperbolic here and I truly, ultimately, believe this, with my heart:

I'd rather die

but hey, I aint judging. everyone's got their shows

I have no sympy.

I enjoyed Smallville early on but once Lex left the show it wasn't the same.

It's funny how I still remember it for having great bookend episodes to each season, the first and last episodes were always the best.

If someone were to say to me that they had watched Smallville in its entirety 3 or 4 times in the last decade, I'd be kinda concerned about them dedicating too much time to one show. Dude, you need to branch out. Limit yourself to, I don't know, watching the show only once a year or something?

As has been said, there are so many other, better TV Shows to watch. Even superhero shows.

I used to watch every x-files season once a year for the longest time. Ive also watched all of Friends multiple times

S1-S3 are good, for the most part.

S4-S7 were the low points of the series and it didn't help that WB/CW were constantly cutting it's budget despite it being the best performing show they had. Given WB/CW kept making shows trying to cater to those who like teenage drama soap operas; I suspect the network played a large part in its poor quality. Not too mention that every season post S3 was in limbo of whether or not it'd be cancelled so the first half of the season they would rush to try and set it up so he could be Superman by the end of the season. However, once it got renewed mid-season they would stall and backpedal Clark's progress. The writing especially in these seasons were inconsistent and messy.

S8-S10 were much better and was more of a Superman-lite show. Although it still wasn't as good as S1-S3.

Smallville's Clark, Lex, and Lois were the best interpretations of their characters. It's a shame DC never paid attention to what people resonated with in Smallville's interpretation of the Superman Mythos. It would've saved us from Superman Returns.

My dad loves this show. i like it but never really got into it like that. My show is parks and rec. Seen it 3x and working on a 4th with my gf. It seems that knowing what happens seems to make me get even more into it and pay attention to the details. Every joke is funny every time and I cry at the same shit every time. I love parks and rec.

Having watched the first few seasons of Smallville, then later watching Arrow and Flash.

I could not get over the difference in pace between the two shows. Nothing much happens on Smallville.

I've never watched Smallville, but I have a constant rotation of Batman The Animated Series, Super TAS, Justice League/Justice, Batman The Brave and the Bold, and Young Justice. This has been going on for at least fifteen years now. I don't want to know how many times I've watches these shows. It's how I fall asleep most nights.

Smallville has to be my most-watched show of all time as well. I started watching in high school, through college, and was a functioning adult with a career by the time it ended. I'd obtained an education, traveled, loved and lost and loved again, all while keeping up with a single show. It's kind of crazy to think about. Unlike you OP, though, I've never gone back for seconds.

I watch a ton of shows a lot of them are much better then Smalliville, but I still love the show.

I recall watching the show most weeks for the first two years or so.

Then like a decade later I saw an ad on someone's TV for "all new episodes of smallville" and I was like "WTF IT'S STILL GOING ON?"

smallville was my favourite show as a neonate
gateway to my interest in comics

what ever you do, don't blame Kristen Kreuk for Lana "Learns complete mastery of martial arts in one lesson" Lang, if you listen to some of the commentry you can tell shes mildly amused but fed up with the character.

There was a lot of good characters;
The Kents
Chloe
Lois <3
Lionel
Occasionally Lex

too bad everyone else was kinda a whiney ass

From the same channel that brought us supernatural

Tess isn't on this list? I liked her character even if, in Smallville in typical fashion, she was tossed between misguided, trying to redeem herself and being the villain depending on plot convenience. Her redemption arc lasted way too long and for a long time consisted of her being treated like shit by the protagonists but still trying to help them. One episode Clark choked her out, threw her across the room and she still had his back and tried to help him.

With everything good or interesting that's on television I don't know why anybody would rewatch anything. It's a struggle just to keep up with the new stuff I want to see.

I didn't really like Smallville, but somehow I was suckered into 10 seasons of it. (mostly because of friends and family, and an obsessed GF for awhile there).

Lana was annoying.
