Jerky is a gift from the gods.

And this is unquestionably the best jerky you can buy in a store.

Try making your own, though. It's much easier than people think and you don't need any specialized equipment (assuming you have an oven).

I love me some spicy jerky.
Eating it makes me feel like a badass savage! Wish it wouldn't be so goddamn expensive here 😠

I have grown up in the southern-midwest so I have had a variety of jerky but the best jerky I have ever had was at a roadside stand just outside of Thackerville, Oklahoma when I was going to a concert at the Winstar Casino there. I assume the stand was there to captalize on the traffic from the casino, but I stopped anyway because prices were decent and I was starving.

It was AMAZING. They had some kind of BBQ habanero spice going on that made my mouth felt like it was gonna melt, but god damn was it good. I ended up buying a pound of it by the time it was all said and done lol

and those disgusting slim jim meat sticks are just the epitome of man-child gamer food, along with the rest of the garbage thats associated with "gamer culture"

if you like jerky order some of this shit - some of my favorite salted and dried meat:

I usually ship a few loads of it around the country to people for xmas gifts.

I would eat nothing but jerky if I could. Ground black pepper flavor (hey, missed opportunity for a poll) gives me enough spice to slow my pace, but doesn't dirty my fingers.

But I have to poop at some point, alas.

Suho meso (literally: "dry meat") is a smoked beef or pork preparation eaten in Bosnian cuisine, Croatian cuisine, Serbian cuisine, as well as Montenegrin cuisine. The meat is cured in a coarse salt for multiple days before being hung to dry under a fire for multiple days or weeks, depending on the size of meat. This process is traditionally done in the winter to avoid the meat from spoiling. It is similar to Turkish Pasterma, but there is no netting involved in hold the meat.

I've tried beef jerky once, it's not really a thing here in Germany. No wonder, that stuff was like €3 for a tiny bag with like 10 grams, which is RIDICULOUS.

We eat that plenty here too. They are called chicharrones/pork rinds.

Good protein.
Never thought about one quality that thing could have other than possibly giving you a heart attack in the long term. But that's delicious anyways :messenger_savoring: .
Here we called it as "torresmo".

I have it only on occasion, because I live in Europe and that shit is expensive and rare here.

Recently I had a honey bbq one or some shit, really good. From Lidl's american selection.

I would have to say the best ones I've eaten are the Chinese ones. I prefer the moist ones over the dry ones. Never tried the locally made ones from gas stations in USA since they are way overpriced compared to branded ones. Tried to make my own jerky and it was dry as fuck. Maybe i'll have another go at it.
