It's not easy but learning to recognize and accept what is in your control and what isn't is one of the most important things you can do. So many disappointments in life come from things we really have no control over and should not have expectations of in the first place.

That's life. All we can do is focus on what is within our control and push through the hits as best we can. Truth be told life can and will just batter us from time to time and it becomes a matter of focussing inward, avoiding comparing ourselves to anyone else, and just doing what we can to get through it.
When I hit hard times I often fall back on this speech. Yeah it's from a movie, but I find that there's a lot of truth to it and it helps to hear the struggle stated so succinctly
