Seriously, I love it when I start listening to a new band and I can't stop. I love it when I'm instantly enamored and all I do is listen to the songs over and over and over again. I've, literally, had Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge on repeat all day. And "I'm Not Okay" is completely stuck in my head and I can't get it out. I absolutely love this CD. Favorite tracks have to be:

"Jetset Life Is Gonna Kill You"
"You Know What They Do To Guys"
"To The End"
"Helena"
"Thank You For The Venom"
"Hang 'Em High"

At first, I was concerned that I was listening to The Used playing pop-punk. You see, I really hate The Used, and when I heard I'm Not Okay on MTVU, I really liked it. Then they played a Used song right afterwards, and I thought it was the same singer. I'm glad to know that it's not.

Have you listened to the first album at all? Because it's soooo good to hear it.

It's alright. It happens all the time and it takes a long time for me to get burned out.

Bowie: Yeah I have it too. But it's more thrashy than the second. I prefer the rhythm and crunch of the 2nd over the first. That's just me.

The lead singer looks like Corgan in the video. The song is meh.

In other news, I played laser tag with 3 of the members from MCR back at the Warped Tour when GA's MalleyMal hooked me up with free tickets and backstage passes. Coolest GAFFER ever.
But yeah, really good music.

The whole new album IS too poppy. But a good poppy.

MCR is not pop-punk! They are emo! They are actually like the perfect example of a modern emo band. Rites of Spring started emotional hardcore and, by God, MCR is hardcore with emotional lyrics.

That said, I don't really like them that much.

I can't say I was very impressed with this group when I first heard them, but gave them a second chance a few weeks ago.

While they aren't on regular rotation, I have grown to like the music very much. It's different from the regular stuff I listen to, which is what I need every now and then.
