Liza Richardson was guest-hosting Metropolis tonight in place of Jason Bentley, and she managed to play the following in the SAME SET:

DJ Shadow/Zimbabwe Legit, "Legitimate Mix"
Ulrich Schnauss, "On My Own"
Aphex Twin, "Windowlicker"
along with a host of other rare 12" singles in a head-spinning mix. Aaaahhhh...almost makes my 12-hour day worth it.

Yep, my car's radio is pretty much permanently set to KCRW. In fact, it's the only radio station I'll go out of my way to listen to when I'm not driving.

Yeah. Metropolis at night, BBC and NPR news during the day, and Nick Harcourt's cutting edge music in the morning.

Best radio station on the face of the earth.

Oh man, she closed out the night with James Holden's "A Break In The Clouds (Main Mix)." I am officially going to bed with a smile on my face.

And yes, best damn radio station anywhere. I even like the NEWS programming.

I'm envious enough of any one that has a good radio station, let alone an electronic one. iTunes' electronica stations are about as close to anything decent as I get; Beat Blender and Groove Salad tend to play some nice stuff. I don't suppose any one knows of any good Internet radio stations to tap into?

Looking at the program grid... I'd much rather keep WFAE(the station any radio I own stays on) and have music programming on a second station if I could only have one NPR news station.

KCRW rocks! I'm thinking I'm going to subscribe again on their next subscription drive, which should be in a few weeks, right?

I'm also waiting for the next drive so that I can rejoin and get one of those 5-cd packs. My last subscription (techically my two sisters' shared subscription) totally payed off. In addition to the cds, the card was used for discounts at a number of stores we actually shop at and we won free concert tickets to see the White Stripes in 2002.
