I need help selecting a complementary console for my PS4

Hello Gaf.

I am in search for a second console to my PS4 so either a One for a Wii U. I been torn over the past few days and can't decide what to do. I love Nintendo games, but as of right now the only games on Wii U that interest me are Mario 3D World, DKC, and Yoshi Wolly World. For the One its TitanFall, KI, and Soon to be Sunset Overdrive. I know the Xbox One has all the games PS4 does as far as 3rd Party but the games I mentioned before are really dope in my eyes as for Nintendo I am getting a diff experience. Price is not an issue, but I can't decide which one.

thanks.

To be honest the Xbox One and Ps4 have similar gaming experiences in terms of the types of games.

The Wii U would give you much more of a contrasting experience.

I'd go for the Wii U myself, but how about 3DS + Xbox One? You'd get a bigger library of Nintendo games and the few Xbox One exclusives you desire.

Wii U will give you the best overall variety of games, I think. There is a bunch of truly outstanding games already available available for the thing, with more on the way.

Wii U easy.

Those are the only games that interest you right now but you should really give Pikman 3 a shot or W101. I can't believe no interest in MK8 though,,,,

Either way the future is bright for Wii U:

- Smash
- Bayo 2 (and 1)
- Xenoblade X
- Zelda U
- Splatoon
- Mario game 2015
- New Star Fox

Wii U absolutely has more unique games you won't find anywhere else than buying both PS4/One. If you're at all interested in Nintendo staples (Smash, MK8, Pikmin, Mario, etc.), the Wii U has been excellent thus far, with more to come.

I feel like when both Sony and MS's console is owned, one of them is inevitably going to be only used for exclusives. Not that that's bad--I bought a PS3 just for exclusives later in its life--but now may not be the time. Wii U has the best lineup of any current gen console right now.

.

Also WiiU has several amazing-looking exclusives coming out this year that are totally different from what the PS4 and One offers. Unless you really want a specific XB1 exclusive, you should go with the U, since it has a lot more exclusives and is a better complimentary console to the PS4.

I think Wii U is the way to go, so you get the best of two worlds of console gaming.

Wii U is getting Bayonetta 1&2 and Xenoblade Chronicles and Smash Bros. Those, with all the game it already have makes a very good choice.

I have XB1/PS4 and am considering getting a Wii U too. I'm just concerned that the Wii U will become a Bayo-2/Smash/MK machine, just like my XB1 is a Titanfall machine.

I would honestly wait a bit as the price of both will only go down, and if Sunset Overdrive gets amazing reviews then get that - if not, get the Wii U for X reasons.

3 vs 3

Any games in the future your interested in?

Zelda, Halo etc.

My second console of this generation is going to be a Wii U, no questions asked. It's now got a decent line-up of exclusive games and more to come in the near future.

Dude, it's PS4+WiiU all the way, this gen!
Just look at the latest and upcoming games for the WiiU.
Seriously, get a WiiU :)

I think this thread will be a sea of Wii U recommendations. You certainly get a different experience. The Gamepad alone makes for a different experience to games you've already played (like Deus Ex). Plus, Nintendo's first party efforts, of which there are more coming to add to the list.

Xbox one I would wait till fall and see if any deals (black Friday etc) for one around then plus a good bunch of exclusives are out around then (Sunset Overdrive, Halo collection, Forza Horizon 2). It's what I'm doing.

If you want something now I would go with a Wii U.

Since you've already gotten a PS4, I'd say get a Wii U. I have an Xbox One, and I would take a Wii U over a PS4. That said, of all the wonderful upcoming and already released Wii U games, you're only interested in those three?

I own both the ps4 and xbox one. I regret not getting Wii U instead of Xbox One. As people have said, such a difference between Wii U and other consoles.

I went with the wiiu for my second. Better to wait for a hardware revision on the x1 and further price cuts. Way too much overlap with ps4/PC.

If price isn't an issue, then you could eventually get both, right?
Since you have a PS4, you will likely not need a X1 for your multiplatform games so it should only depend on your tastes.
Look a the library of available/announced games, which do you prefer?
The Wii U will give you a more varied experience, and despite being weaker, the games still look pretty good.
Can't speak too much for the X1 as a system, since I don't own one though, but I feel like my PS4+Wii U is a pretty good pair

Well I have a Wii U and can't be disappointed as far as exclusives go. They're top notch and now we're at a point where there is a good number of them as well.

Sorry if OT but if you money is not an issue you can build a PC and get the widest library in all of gaming, and that is not even mentioning emulation. If a console I'd say a Wii U. Unless a MS franchise holds a particular allure for you.

The best choice in my eyes would be a WiiU, considering all your 3rd party purchases would be on the PS4.

I mean the XB1 will have some great exclusives, but all things considered I think for you the WiiU is best (right now). Get an XB1 in a few years when it's under 300 and catch up on the exclusives.

Edit:
I should also say get a Vita..I love mine and goes well with the PS4.

Wii U means you also get access to the Wii library. I'd say go with Wii U all day. You're only missing out on a handful of Xbox One exclusives and most of the major games will be coming out on PS4 as well. Wii U library is fantastic so far.

Wii U.

It's not because there's very little over lap ( you can have huge over lap but still more exclusive titles because of the sheer size of its library. ). It's mostly because the number of worthy exclusives exceed Xbox One's, in my opinion, at this junction.

If you are interested in SM3DW chances are that you will love Captain Toad game to be released this year.

MK8 and SSB 4 do nothing for you?

How about Bayonetta 2? Pikmin 3? Lego City Undercover? W101? Hyrule Warriors?
For the future - Splatoon, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse? Xenoblad Chronicle X? Zelda Wii U?

The WiiU because you can't play their 1st party games anywhere else. With the X1, you can at least play some of their exclusives on PC (Titanfall, DR3, etc).

Wii U is the only correct answer.

PS4 is too similar to the Xbox One, and the Wii U will complement it nicely as the Wii U has a stellar line up of unique exclusives which the Xbox One doesn't have and never will have.

3 vs 3, no other games on the horizon for either console that would sway you either way? WiiU would probably be the one to get based on your love of Nintendo game unless you really want something on Xbox One.

If you have an xbox one and a ps4 the xbox is a joke. Get a wiiu.

Lol
