Okay, here's the deal. 2 weeks from now I'm going on a hiking trip (highest peak in Vermont), and seeing as how I'm not in the best of shape, I want to prepare myself.

What can I do in these upcoming 2 weeks? Obviously lots of cardiovascular, but my questions are, how often? At what time of day? Before or after meals?

My advice: do some moderate jogging for 30-35 minutes every other day. It's best to do it before a meal for a couple of reasons. If you've just eaten, your body is already working on digestion and doesn't need the extra strain of the heart pumping very fast. Also, a good workout tends to supress appetite, so you'll probably eat less and fill up more on liquids (since you'll be thirsty) when you do have your meal afterwards.

Yea, definately jogging. Dude your poor shins and calves are in for some hell, lol.

If you live near the beach, you better try jogging there, uphill is hard to say the very least.
