I need some help using the Action Replay device. (Gamecube)

It doesn't seem to want to save any codes or games that I've added.

I can add the games and the codes and play one time, but after I turn the game off, the disk doesn't recognize any codes on the memory card. The game doesn't load the codes either.

I'm not really sure whether this product is defective or what. I have the action replay "hardware" in the second memory card slot as instructed, but I simply cannot get this thing to save anything. During one session, I can add whatever I want, and it subtracts from the free Action replay disk space. But if I turn it off and turn it back on, it's as if I did nothing. I even press "Update the hardware" several times to make sure. Still no save.

Any ideas?

I've tried formatting it manually. Now I'm going to try resetting it. That just seems to take up all the space though. I don't think any of this should be happening.

I have a GC Action Replay and didn't have that problem... Maybe the card you have is defective or something, can't you return it?

You can actually use a standard GC memory card in slot two instead of the Datel thingy. Just put in a blank 59, have the ACtion Replay format it, and you're set.

Okay, I just tried that. However, when it's updating the hardware, it just loads and loads and loads and loads.

Odd. Try it again?

After unlocking the 18 NES games in Animal Crossing, I shelved the Action Replay.

Okay it works.

I actually bought it for the same reason. I make theme towns (more than one) from time to time, and I wanted the catalog.

Also, RE4 has some pretty cool codes, including the upcoming one to play as
Krauser
in the main quest.
