The remote play feature is really excellent but prefer ds4 when my lounge tv is free..

I don't understand you OP. I'm doing the exact opposite when i remote play in my living room (wife watching tv).

I set up a whole system to be able to use my DS4 on my Vita for PS4 games...

How do you use ds4 on vita?

FPS button mappings for L3/R3 and L1/R1 are terrible. I hope if there's ever a Vita 2, they do away with the touch pad on the back and actually have press-able sticks and somehow come up with a way to have L1/R2 and L2/R2 somewhat in the same positions as current controller layouts. At worst, maybe put them next to the other 4 buttons like some 3rd party controllers do.
