I have this friend who is like a complete germ freak. He carries around a bottle of anitbacterial disinfectant, wont touch door handles etc.. That isn't a big deal in itself, but this guy doesn't shower and always smells terrible. He has that constant I just worked out in the gym for 2 hours smell (even though he doesn't), you know that kinda onion smelling B.O. Whenever he comes over my room lingers of the stench for like an hour.

I don't understand, shouldn't that go against his principles? I mean what's the use of being a germ freak, if you don't even shower and smell like a fuckin pit.

I'm something of a germ freak but only about other people. My own filth doesn't bother me in the least.

I remember seeing one chick who had OCD but wouldn't clean her house because she was afraid of the filth, so it eventually piled up into even WORSE filth.

Sounds like he's got some obsessive-compulsive disorder going on...

Yeah there definitely are symptoms of that. He'll check to see if he locked his car door like 5 times, and other stuff like that.

Maybe there's something "he" isn't telling you!

You'd better tell him if the smell bothers you that much. Most people can't smell their own BO.

:lol @ the google ads. http://www.enzara.com/

I've mentioned it in a not so direct way hoping he'd get the hint. I've even sprayed room freshener while he was in the room. The good thing is that he is obsessive about washing his hands, so I don't mind him using my game controllers so much.

QFT. I had a relative who went nutso if you touched any of his stuff, he started screaming about germs and shit. It's a disease.

I too have moderate OCD. It's not simply that she's "afraid" of the filth, although that could be part of it. While she might not want to get her physical body dirty by interacting with the disgusting stuff that's destroying her house, a secondary trait of people with OCD is that they're hyper perfectionists. You might think this would result in an immaculate house with nothing out of place, but for some people with the disorder, it becomes paralyzing. They're so afraid that they can't 100% sanitize their house, that it becomes overwhelming and they can't even begin to start. It's not logical on its own, but it makes sense within the crazy mind of someone with OCD.

Why don't germ freaks improve their diet instead of washing their hands all the time. Assuming their immune system isn't inherently piss poor, they should be immune to most common disease.

I used to eat shit. I'd get colds constantly.

I've been improving my diet for the past 5 years, slowly. As I've done that, the sicknesses go away. About 8 months ago, I began my health nut driven diet. I haven't had the slightest hint of illness, even when flu/cold season hit and everyone at work had something, I had nothing. I can't remember the last time I had a headache or stomach ache. I used to get those a lot too.

My name is teh_pwn and my OCD is better than yours.

I had OCD and it basically means your life is ruled by seemingly arbitrary rules or standards. For example, I couldn't stand my other people's filth, but mine was okay. But a better example is how I couldn't understand other people's clutter because I preferred things to be nice and organized... even if my definition of organization came off as clutter to others. Its all in the eye of the beholder.
