I think my NES just died!

With the success of the Atari joysticks the last two Christmases, I still have no idea why Nintendo hasn't jumped on this. The idea of a new NES deck makes very little sense to me, but a controller with a few games inside, yes.

Like The End mentioned a few posts ago, Nintendo's already releasing NES games for $20 apiece on the GBA. The games are available already, so there's no real reason Nintendo would shoot itself in the foot and make those previous "Classic NES" releases obsolete.

Eh like mentnioned above. Why give away 15-30 games for 20 bucks when you can get 20 bucks a pop for one game.

I disagree -- most of the Classic NES games were already available either within Animal Crossing or on E-Reader cards. I think the real reason is that the plug-and-play joysticks aren't popular in JAPAN, where Nintendo's R&D is centered. The only reason we even got the Classic NES Series in the first place is because of the Famicom Mini releases in Japan.

On this count, I think Nintendo really needs to wake up. I'm sure they wouldn't want to partner with Jakks as other publishers have done (especially considering the company's shaky status re the WWE lawsuit), but they're missing out on a good opportunity by not doing plug-and-play hardware.

EDIT: And furthermore, the current pricing seems to be about $25-$35 for around five games. The Street Fighter stick will be, what, $34.99 for two Genesis games? I doubt pricing is a factor.

so, does anyone actually have a NeoFami? I'm really tempted. Does the original "Gametech" version come with a fami-NES adapter, or do you need to get to "yobu" mall version?

Well for those that care I got up to boswer with a swank 15 lives left, had an exciting double KO with him was classic!

As I was proclaiming my victory a stray fireball got me!!

I am keen to pick up the GBA port now, however I am concerned that game will loose it’s charm if continue were you left off if you ran out of lives! How does the save system work in the GBA title?

I got 5 bucks that says in 10 years no PS1 will still work!

Another reason why I want Nintendo to start owning the other systems in the next console war, they make quality systems. Honestly, how many PS2 fanboys have heard of Gamecubes biting the dust with their original models or having defective lens readers.

Even in a thread that has nothing to do at all with Sony, trolls find a way to taint it.

I don't believe either will have one if considerate store management don't include them. The stores around here that carry them purchased the adaptors separately and included them, as do eStarland with the Gametech version (only $30 there). Play-Asia don't include the convertors (neat, a new silver/red model).
