I just watched it last night. While it wasn't the best movie I saw I enjoyed it. Better than Resurrection at least. Also Paul Anderson, while taking a lot of flack, usually makes shit I enjoy.

The one thing he needs though is someone to write for him. Or at least revise his stuff. He films cool scenes. Even comes up with good ideas/concepts. He just doesn't use their full potential. It seems like he's just making the movies he'd watch himself(which is probably what I'd do.

It would have been cool to actually see more of the predators. Expand the whole rite of passage. Show them working as a pack. A huge older predator leading several younger ones. Show a few quick shots of them hunting species on different worlds across the universe. Maybe even their home.

The flashback to the sacrifices/ battle at the pyramid. And everything with the queen. It was no end of Aliens, but she WAS badass. CGI was decent, especially the way the queen looked on the ice.

Also is it just me or would AVP make a great cartoon? I've read a few synopsis of the novels/comics. It would make a cool action show for Adult Swim.

You could say it's unlucky first time to fuck things up like the Alien growth cycle.

Unforgivable that the guy who who was supposed to fix things like that missed out on them as well. :lol

part 1 was way too short, a lot of build up, a little climax and suddenly it was over. i just kept in my seat thinking: the next scene is after these credits right ? ;(

and btw where was the blood and gore, it was too soft.

I've read that AvP was going to be rated R but they forced to cut a bunch of shit to make it PG-13, and that a rated R director's cut would eventually be released on DVD. Any truth to this?

Only 3 landed. When the first one got skewered I was pissed. The fight almost made up for and then that one gets killed. When the 3rd one got impregnated I called shenanigans.

It almost seemed like it was mocking the franchise. Besides the basic premise not a single cool idea in the movie. AVP had a few of those.

After finally viewing it a few weeks ago, Alien 3 was a good movie. It gets shit on alot but it was something I'd pay to see.

Yeah I think Alien 3 suffers to much from not being Alien or Aliens. It was a good movie just not amazing like its ancestors.
