Hideos UI, tons of ads, signing in and out of passport is chunky, low storage space, next to no spam filtering.

That is reason enough to switch to Firefox. Firefox even has an extension to check Gmail at an interval like hotmail and MSN.

That wouldn't qualify in my case. I signed up for hotmail and before I could even give out the email address I was receiving spam in my mailbox After trying to keep the mailbox clear I gave up and just moved on.

Hmm, my Hotmail account got upgraded quite a while ago. I figured it had happened for everyone, but I guess they're going piece by piece.

I like having Hotmail, it gets all the spam and semi-spam (i.e: info I could theoretically be interested in like marketing email from Nintendo/Sony) out of my ISP email account and lets me keep that solely as a personal communication address. Of course, I think there are other, better, free email providers, like Yahoo! for one... (let alone Gmail)
