So a great friend of mine delivered my wife and I a wonderful gift - A Sega iDog!

Anyone know how they work?

Specifically,

Do the front legs move? It seems like they should.

Does it really store music? According to base level translation skills it should.

Any tips?

Becuase at the moment, it's a bit rubish.

It lights up on the front in a rather cool way. You know those noise-sensitive wall light with loads of different colours? Like one of those. And you can plug an earphone jack into it and it dances to the music coming out of its little speaker. It also makes some annoying noises.

Its head and ears move. That's it.

There are voice commands and I think it can 'see' hand movements to a degree...

Any ideas?

The iDog is capable of changing its feelings from happy to angry by moving it's ears and rotating the head and by changing the color of the 7 LED lights on its head. The idog music bot has stored music sequences and melodies it will play based on the interaction with its sensors. For instance it gets happy when users touch its ears and pad on its head. It gets surprised when users touch its nose or wave in front of him. The Sega iDog will become angry when users touch its tail.
A MP3 Player like the iPod can be attached to the iDog via 3.5mm audio cable. IT has a mono-speaker built-in. A microphone is also present in the iDog.
The Sega Toys iDog measures 116x107x100mm. Batteries hold for 3 hours.

LOL @ bling kit. I'd have made a better job of it if that was my plan son! And that's an old mobile that's been dusted off as I left my charger for current cel in France. Like a genius.
That's where the dog sits. I could have taken it from the other side to show off my half dead basil plant... Ho hum.
The case is great I guess. It has a whole stero deal going on which is kinda, um, well it's bothersome in a yuppie way. Though the cost of London river living is high, so the less space the PC monster takes up the better. Funny thing about the case. I was complaing about the lack of firewire and only two UBS ports. Then I accidentally uncovered the flap at the bottom which had firewire, two USB, IEEE 1394, mic, HP and SPDIF. Cool!
About iDog. Doesn't anyone else on GAF have one?

I can't work it out either. iDog looks cute but it's just a bit crap. Came here in search of anyone else who has worked him out but I just find the same confused fucker I gave the iDog to in the first place. I think we just have to accept that iDog is a little... pointless.
